introduction

With the development of social economy and science and technology, people have higher and higher requirements for living environment and quality of life. In addition to meeting basic living needs, it also needs to bring residents a sense of security and satisfaction, and assist government departments to do a good job in grassroots social governance. These pose new challenges to community management services. Deepening community security measures has become an important task in the construction of a social security prevention and control system. Smart community is a new concept of community management and a new mode of social management innovation under the new situation. The scope of the smart community has been continuously extended. The functions and services provided by the smart community are mainly reflected in the four modules of smart security, smart home, property management and community services. Among them, smart security is the most important part of protecting the safety of property owners. Through the construction of smart security communities, the transition from "traditional defense" to "technical defense" is realized, providing convenience for the people in the community, thereby helping the basic work of community security and promoting the construction of a harmonious community. As the main technical form of the smart security community, with the widespread coverage and deepening of the application of 4G networks, the gradual maturity and development of various IoT protocols and technologies, the technical display form of IoT + security has become the mainstream, and the effective processing of a large amount of real-time data generated by IoT devices has also become the main driving force for the growth of the integrated smart community market such as artificial intelligence + IoT. Issues such as data islands, data chimneys, and fragmented applications continue to emerge in the application of single-product intelligence, even multi-product intelligence, and system intelligence. After the intervention of artificial intelligence, IoT soon had a connected brain, and a series of problems such as data islands were quickly resolved. Whether it is the real-time massive data generated by IoT devices, or the countless training and deep learning of big data in the development of artificial intelligence, data is the key. After the integration of AI and IoT, the Internet of Things provides artificial intelligence with the data stream required for its training and deep learning, which promotes the gradual development of artificial intelligence to "applied intelligence"; artificial intelligence analyzes and processes real-time data and historical data in the data stream, and speculates on the habits of end users, thereby making devices smarter and smarter. That is to say, regardless of the form in which data existed independently of each other before, after the integration of AI and IoT, the data islands between enterprises and equipment and between equipment and equipment are completely broken. Integrating AI technology and IoT technology in the form of fusion technology, a large amount of data is generated and collected through the Internet of Things and stored in the cloud and edge Edge, and then through big data analysis, and a higher form of artificial intelligence, so as to realize the digitalization of all things and the intelligent connection of all things. Under such a technical background, the Internet of Things + security has become the mainstream technology form in the implementation of smart communities.

The development and application status of Internet of things + security in the construction of smart communities

Since 2017, various relevant departments in my country have intensively introduced a number of policies to support the development of the Internet of Things industry. In January 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for the Internet of Things", which clarified the development goals of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" for the Internet of Things industry. In June of the same year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice on Comprehensively Promoting the Construction and Development of Mobile Internet of Things (NB-IoT)". During this period, my country's relevant policies for building smart cities and smart communities have also been introduced one after another, further accelerating the development process of my country's Internet of Things. Under the guidance of policies and the promotion of industry insiders, the industrial scale of my country's Internet of Things has continued to expand in recent years, and the growth rate has also become faster and faster. According to the statistics of the "2017-2018 China Internet of Things Development Annual Report", from 2013 to 2017, the industrial scale of my country's Internet of Things has grown from 489.65 billion yuan to 1.186 billion yuan, with a compound annual growth rate of 25%. As the industrial scale of the Internet of Things continues to expand, people in the industry are also actively promoting the Internet of Things to be put into practical applications. At present, the Internet of Things has accelerated integration with many fields in my country, and has effectively promoted the development of more industries to achieve new breakthroughs. Among them, the Internet of Things has gradually been verified on a large scale in the fields of transportation, logistics, environmental protection, medical care, security, and electric power. It is also setting off a new round of industrial transformation in the fields of smart cities, industrial Internet of Things, Internet of Vehicles, and smart homes. In the actual landing process, the Internet of Things plays an important role in the construction of smart communities. With the help of the technical advantages of the Internet of Things, community managers can use remote monitoring and other equipment to understand the entry and exit of vehicles and the flow of people in the community in a timely manner, so as to efficiently manage the entire community. The security system of the smart community is divided into two categories: the whole community security system and the home security system. The development trend of smart community security system has the following four aspects:

  1. The main technologies of smart security include a new generation of information technology such as Internet of Things technology, "cloud" technology, and big data technology

  Use new technology equipment to improve the intelligence level of the security system, such as using comprehensive intelligent analysis technology and information promotion means to proactively discover and prevent security incidents. Actively notify people through the security reminder service to realize information interaction between security subsystems in the community; upgrade the TV monitoring system to an intelligent monitoring system to increase the security and intelligence of the community; through real-time intelligent analysis technology, large-scale data storage technology and data analysis and mining technology, the collected information is linked together, the on-site environment is intelligently analyzed, and the analysis results are reported to the early warning center to ensure preventive measures.

  2. Adopt a large integrated platform to realize resource integration and data sharing

  The security system of the smart community adopts a large integrated platform to realize system integration data sharing and resource integration data sharing between various levels. To this end, it is necessary to further improve the construction of two aspects: on the one hand, set up a gateway in the security system in the category of smart home to realize data sharing and linkage between the various security subsystems in the household; on the other hand, build a "public information network management platform" in the community, so that the security subsystems of the whole community can realize information sharing and linkage.

3. The connection between the smart community and the city's information platform

  As one of the foundations of the smart city security system, the community security system and security database provide district-level and city-level public security systems with access to community security databases and interfaces for invoking community security devices, providing analysis basis for higher-level public security systems to solve cases and strengthen urban security management. Therefore, in addition to connecting the smart home security system with the public information platform of the smart community through the gateway, the public information platform of the smart community also needs to be connected with the information management platform of the smart city.

  Judging from the application status of the Internet of Things + security and smart communities:

1. The Internet of Things accelerates the construction of smart communities

At present, my country is vigorously advocating the construction of smart cities and improving the level of intelligent management of cities. To achieve this goal, smart communities obviously cannot be ignored. On the whole, smart communities involve smart homes, smart buildings, smart security and other fields, mainly including smart home systems, security systems and smart management systems. Connecting related devices with the help of the Internet of Things can effectively improve the relevant environment for community medical and health services, cultural services and other activities, improve the community's infrastructure, and provide more convenience to the lives of community residents. At the same time, after adopting the Internet of Things technology, the security level of the entire community has also been further improved.

  • The Internet of Things has become the main technology enabling carrier for the construction of smart communities

When it comes to the technical carrier of smart communities, with the building intercom system, electronic patrol system, access control system, home anti-theft alarm system and many other contents; the property management system includes remote meter reading billing system, parking lot management system, IC card management system, fire protection system, electronic bulletin system and other community security solutions. Let’s look at how the Internet of Things (IoT) is the main technology empowerment carrier for smart community construction from several common security applications in smart community construction: In terms of the current community security field, video surveillance is still the main battlefield of AI + security, accounting for nearly 90% of the market value. However, with the help of the Internet of Things, the security industry not only solves the two major problems of analysis and feedback, but also analyzes and processes massive heterogeneous data through machine learning and deep learning, coupled with the help of edge computing, it is possible to realize the structured processing of video data by front-end cameras. Also based on machine vision, endowing the front-end camera with more agile observation capabilities, such as face recognition, license plate recognition, gesture recognition, 3D structured light technology, etc., which are widely popular in the industry, have injected new vitality into the current security industry. Perhaps from a macro perspective, it is precisely because of the help of the Internet of Things that the security industry can be intelligentized, and even the intelligent security industry can truly achieve "universal security for all living beings". In the process of empowering the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, face recognition should be the core scenario application of the current security industry. Whether it is a front-end smart camera or the first smart door lock for a family, face recognition has become an indispensable part of smart security. Person recognition is a higher-level application of face recognition technology in the security industry. This technology is widely embedded in cameras deployed in cities to collect thousands of faces and identify and match faces to find suspicious persons and criminal suspects. It is widely used in Ancheng City, Xueliang Project, Smart City, Smart Transportation and other applications. In the deployment of urban security, the smart camera embedded with face recognition technology can transmit the facial feature data to the computer central database through the computer network at the same time as taking suspicious portraits. The Guangzhou Zhigan Community, built by Jiadu Technology, has benefited from the arrest and escape of 13 people. There are also facial recognition derivative products deployed in urban buildings, such as smart access control and smart door locks, which have penetrated into all places that require identity authentication and identification, and have been well applied in smart campuses, building intercoms, smart communities, and smart finance. In the current construction of smart communities, face recognition technology has become the standard configuration of multiple systems such as access control management, visitor systems, and video security systems.

The application of Internet of Things + security in the construction of smart communities is difficult

With the development of society and economy and the advent of the Internet + era, technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud computing, 4G/5G, and big data continue to mature. People's attention to community services is no longer limited to community security infrastructure, but more interest and attention are placed on communication with the outside world, quality of life, security and other intelligent construction. This requires traditional communities to adopt advanced technological means, focus on the city's own laws of operation, perception of social chronic diseases, and various appeals of the masses, comprehensively grasp the vital signs of urban operation, the status of urban operation, and when there are emergencies and abnormal situations, early warning and prediction perception, relevant alarm numbers are turned into instructions, and they are pushed to relevant departments for quick disposal. On the other hand, in order to effectively deal with prominent problems that affect social security and stability, how to innovate a three-dimensional social security prevention and control system and comprehensively improve the intelligent level of community governance through new technological means such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data, so as to realize full collection of community personnel and vehicle information, full control of activity tracks, full sharing of data and information, and full response to people's requests for help, etc., and strive to improve the sense of gain, happiness, and security of the masses is the top priority of the current smart community construction. However, based on the experience of building smart communities in various provinces across the country and the implementation of projects, from the perspective of technology, management, operation, and application, it is not difficult for us to analyze some challenges faced by the construction of smart communities:

  1. Lack of standards and norms for smart community construction

  Due to the incomplete top-level design and construction specifications of smart communities related to the country and industry, and the lack of specifications for engineering design, construction installation, and equipment selection, the construction of various places is relatively random. In addition, after the system is completed, there are no corresponding acceptance and testing standards, and there is no relevant department to organize acceptance. Therefore, there is an urgent need to issue such technical specifications for smart communities, so as to effectively regulate the implementation of related systems in smart communities.

  2. Lack of means to manage the floating population

At present, there are a large number of floating population in cities, and the composition is complex, resulting in the change of floating population information not being recorded and entered in a timely manner, which brings great management difficulties to the management of floating population in the community. In addition, it is difficult to grasp the movement of floating population, which makes it difficult for the management department to implement control measures. Due to the weak awareness of the floating population, the self-consciousness of voluntarily reporting to the public security organs is not high. In order to pursue profits and tenants in order to save costs, some community landlords often do not apply for registration at the police station and community property, resulting in the number of people registered. With the increasing number of foreigners entering the city every year, the security risks and security cases brought about by it are gradually increasing, which poses a huge challenge to security prevention.

3. Lack of comprehensive community governance mechanism

  With the rapid development of the economy, more and more communities are built and put into use. Due to the situation of self-occupation and lease in the original old community, the management of the old community has become increasingly complicated. Some communities have not been equipped with corresponding property management, and the personal and property safety of residents cannot be guaranteed. At present, the police force in each police station does not match the ratio of grid personnel. Relying on "manual methods" for visit collection, input, maintenance, and processing, grass-roots community management is under great pressure. There is a lack of perfect management process mechanism, and efficient management methods are urgently needed.

  4. Lack of convenient, convenient and convenient measures

  The rapid economic development has brought about an increase in people's requirements for the living environment, especially higher requirements for the quality of community construction. The current community is insufficiently intelligent, lacking public services such as community medical care, care and assistance, information policy release, vehicle management, and housing management. Residents' satisfaction is low, especially in old communities. At the same time, community management has attracted more and more attention to the monitoring of fire safety hazards and the care of widowed and elderly people.

  V. Lack of Basic Data Governance and Management Applications

In the past, the construction of communities was done on their own, lacking unified planning and design, and there were situations such as repeated construction of some systems and repeated data entry. In addition, community-based collection data coverage is incomplete, collection methods are single, information databases are updated slowly and systems are independent of each other, information islands are serious, data is not unified and integrated, and there is a lack of in-depth data mining and analysis methods, resulting in extremely low data use value. Therefore, the real-time, accuracy, and effectiveness of data urgently need to be improved, and the tentacles of management and services will be extended to thousands of households through the multi-dimensional perception and collection of grassroots data.

From the perspective of security, communities can be divided into open communities and closed communities. Open communities mainly include urban villages, transformed communities, and mixed commercial and residential communities; closed communities mainly include property communities and unit courtyards. The security risks faced by different types of communities and the prevention problems that need to be solved are quite different, and the stakeholders that need to be linked are also different.

1. Urban villages, transformed communities (open communities)

Take urban villages in open communities and transformed communities as examples. Due to historical and economic reasons, there are usually many rental houses and short-term rental houses in the community, the registered population is small, and the migrant population accounts for the majority. The openness and complexity of urban villages and transformed communities make their security precautions far more difficult than closed property communities. In terms of technology, due to the difficulty of effectively managing the entry and exit of people and vehicles, the security technologies commonly used in smart community construction, such as video surveillance, intrusion alarm, parking lot management, and access control management, play an extremely limited role. Smarter technical means are needed to obtain comprehensive information on all aspects of the community as much as possible without perception; in terms of management, security and management forces such as community defense teams and village committees do not have law enforcement powers to enforce mandatory management of various types of personnel. It can be seen that the focus of this type of community security is on people. It requires not only the support of intelligent and precise technical means, but also the linkage between technology and business, such as the public security organs and other powerful law enforcement agencies, in order to realize the intelligent and refined prevention of the community.

2. Commercial and residential mixed community (open community)

Take the commercial-residential mixed community in the open community as an example. Most of these communities are large-scale commercial-residential complexes, and the community often includes apartments (including long-term rentals and hotel-style short-term rentals), outdoor, indoor squares, shopping malls, parking lots, office buildings and other places for multiple purposes. In addition to the characteristics of complex personnel and high mobility of people and vehicles, its commercial attributes also result in dense crowds and high crowd gathering. From the perspective of safety precautions, it is necessary to control points—to clarify the identity and number of actual residents in apartments and short-term rental houses, to discover risks in time, and to control the surface—to monitor the flow of people and the number of people in shopping malls in real time, so as to prevent problems before they happen. It can be seen that the demand for security technology in commercial and residential mixed communities is not only the management of people and vehicles, but also the need for risk identification and abnormal warning based on its characteristics.

3. Property community (closed community)

As for the type of property community in a closed community, due to the closed environment, the application of conventional smart community technical means is effective, and there are perfect property management and security personnel as supplementary management of technical defense measures. For example, when a smoke alarm is triggered in a resident’s home, can the monitoring center quickly contact the owner or resident through multiple channels such as video intercom, telephone, and text message to learn about the situation on the spot and confirm whether it is a false alarm? After confirming that it is not a false alarm, how can it more accurately notify the nearest property management or joint defense personnel to rush to the scene, and how can it quickly link with the corresponding public security and fire departments? more, more stringent security measures will be required). In terms of technology and business, this is far beyond the scope of traditional smart community construction led by property companies and focusing on access management. Can quickly link with the corresponding public security, fire and other departments; how to accurately measure the status of residents in daily operations, and implement different security strategies according to different conditions (for example, during the Chinese New Year, if it is estimated that most of the owners of the community leave the local area and most of the rooms are vacant, stricter security measures need to be implemented). In terms of technology and business, this is far beyond the scope of traditional smart community construction led by property companies and focusing on access management.

The in-depth application of Internet of Things + security in the construction of smart communities

In order to effectively deal with outstanding problems affecting social security and stability, innovate a three-dimensional social security prevention and control system, strictly prevent and punish various illegal and criminal activities in accordance with the law, and comprehensively promote the construction of a safe China, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council jointly issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Construction of Social Security Prevention and Control System", which clearly requires all regions and departments to conscientiously implement it in light of actual conditions.
