Last Sunday, I communicated with Ma Liang, the video architect of Pinterest, and they explored the status quo and future of video services. According to Ma Liang, Pinterest is working hard to improve the user experience, including using more advanced video encoders, increasing video resolution and so on. At the same time, Pinterest is basically built on third-party infrastructure such as AWS, and does not refuse to use third-party technical services, which is quite different from the domestic situation. Of course, the use of third-party services does not mean that they are not sensitive to costs. Ma Liang said that while improving the client experience, we must also consider how to control costs.

Speaking of the future, Ma Liang introduced that Pinterest has invested a lot of manpower in AI, and the company's recent hackathon is all about AI. On the product side, AI-related functions are often tested online.
