Language is the most important means of human communication and the cornerstone of the evolution of human civilization. The task of the subject of language intelligence is to endow machines with the ability to perceive and recognize human language, and to perform calculation and reasoning of human-like intelligence. The School of Information Science of Beijing Language and Culture University is one of the earliest units in China to carry out research on language information processing. It is the first unit in China to establish a doctoral program in language intelligence and technology. In 2019, the Institute of Language Intelligence was established, dedicated to the field of language intelligence Talent training, teaching and scientific research and social service work. In order to deepen the understanding of outstanding college students across the country about the disciplines of our school, promote exchanges between outstanding undergraduates of related majors in various universities, and build an interactive platform between young students and industry experts and scholars, our school specially held the "Beijing Language and Culture University School of Information Science and The 2023 National Excellent College Students Summer Camp of the Institute of Language Intelligence welcomes the 2024 undergraduate graduates who intend to apply for the postgraduate examination of our institute to sign up to participate.
1. Introduction
The School of Information Science was established in 2000, and its predecessor was the first "Institute of Language Information Processing" established in 1987 in China. The college has carried out postgraduate training since 2005. So far, it has a master’s degree authorization point for the first-level discipline of computer science and technology, a master’s degree authorization point for the second-level discipline of language intelligence and technology, a master’s degree authorization point for library information, and a doctor’s degree authorization point for language intelligence and technology. point. It has established a complete training system from undergraduate to master and doctor. At present, the college offers research directions such as language information processing, language intelligent learning, language cognitive computing, language big data and knowledge mining. A total of about 50 students are enrolled in each discipline direction each year.
The school has a team of teachers with high scientific research level, strong sense of responsibility, rich teaching experience, and reasonable age structure. The school currently has 11 full professors and 19 associate professors, including 10 doctoral supervisors and 23 master supervisors. Academic leaders and backbone classrooms in all directions have good academic reputation and high academic influence. There is currently 1 winner of the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 expert with special allowance from the State Council, and the "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" of the Ministry of Education. 2 people, 3 famous teachers in Beijing, and 3 people from the "Youth Talent Program" of Beijing's colleges and universities. A number of teachers undertake the work of leaders, directors or special committees of relevant national professional associations, such as the National Institute of Computer Basic Education Research Association, China Chinese Information Society, China Computer Federation, Chinese Corpus Linguistics Research Association, and National Human-Machine Speech Communication Association Committee and more.
Over the years, our institute has undertaken a total of nearly 20 national 863 projects, national science and technology support projects, national natural science foundations, national social science major and key projects, and more than 40 provincial and ministerial-level vertical projects have been approved. Scientific research achievements have been nominated by the Ministry of Education for the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, the Ministry of Education's "40 Years of Reform and Opening Up Achievement Exhibition", and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Major Artificial Intelligence Unveiling Task" and many other awards. 3. Application qualifications
Excellent students who have a strong interest in computer science and technology or language intelligence and technology and related fields, have the potential to carry out academic research, and are willing to engage in academic research are welcome to apply. The specific requirements are as follows:
1. Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, have good moral character, obey laws and regulations, have a good academic style, and have no record of violation of laws or disciplines during school.
2. Professional requirements: outstanding third-year undergraduate students in computer, artificial intelligence, linguistics and related majors in colleges and universities across the country (graduates in 2024);
3. Grade requirements: Excellent grades, and the overall grades (grade points) of the first 3 years (or the first 5 semesters) of the undergraduate program are ranked within the top 30% of the same grade in the school-based major;
4. English requirements: Pass the National College English Test Band-6 or the English Major Test Band-4, or the new TOEFL score is higher than 90 (including 90), or the IELTS is higher than 6.0 (including 6.0);
5. "Master's" project: meet the basic requirements of the national examination-free master's degree program, and is expected to obtain the recommended examination-free qualification of the school, or an outstanding student (graduates in 2024) who intends to apply for the postgraduate examination of our school;
6. "Direct Ph.D." project: It meets the basic requirements of the national examination-free master's degree program, and two letters of recommendation from associate professors or above are required.

7. Evaluation and evaluation
After the summer camp is over, our school will select outstanding campers based on the application materials, performance during the camp and other comprehensive conditions, and issue outstanding camper certificates, which will be announced on the website of the School of Information Science, Beijing Language and Culture University.
Our school will provide the following preferential policies for excellent and qualified campers:
1. If an "excellent camper" obtains the 2024 postgraduate exemption qualification of the school and applies for our school's recommendation of exempt students, the application major must be the same as the major announced by the "excellent camper". , must have the same major and direction. If there is any change in the name of the major or direction, the "Beijing Language and Culture University 2024 Master's Program Catalog" or relevant notices shall prevail. "Excellent campers" who meet the above conditions can directly plan to be admitted as postgraduate students of our school in 2024 through recommendation and exemption, and do not need to participate in the recommendation and exemption re-examination.
2.
