0. Environment

windows + excel 2021 version

Applicable scenarios:

When you want to provide a document to others, you need to use a password to open the document. Encryption is divided into [encrypt when opening] and [encrypt when modifying]

Encrypt on Open: A password is required to open the document

Encrypt on modification: If you do not enter a password, this document will only be read-only

 1. Operation steps

1) After editing the document, use the [Save As] function, the shortcut key is [F12] (note, some systems need to press Fn)

2) Select two encryption forms (there are differences introduced in the 0. environment), and enter the corresponding password

If you only enter the [open permission password]

After clicking OK, when the document is opened again, it looks like this

After entering the password, you can enter the document, have editing rights, edit the document normally, and save it

If only [Modify Permission Password] is entered

Click OK to open the file again like this, you can enter the password to enter the edit mode, or you can select [Read-only Open], after opening, it will be a read-only document and cannot be edited

If you enter two passwords at the same time

When you click OK to open it again, the above two password input windows will appear in turn, prompting you to enter the password twice. If you enter the correct password twice, you can open and edit normally. If you only enter the correct [open password], you do not enter the correct one [Edit Password] Then the document will be displayed in read-only mode
