Set excel encryption
method one:
The easiest way is to set protection for the entire excel sheet. After opening the excel file, find [Review] in the toolbar, click [Protect Worksheet], enter the excel password you want to set, and click [OK].
Method Two:
If we want to protect the excel table more accurately, we can choose to protect some cells. The protection set in this way can prevent the table from being edited by others, but other cells can be edited by others. The setting steps are as follows:
Open the excel file and select the entire worksheet, right click and select [Format Cells]
Select the [Protection] tab in the cell format, we will uncheck the [Locked], click [OK]
Then cancel the selection of all worksheets, select the table to be protected, right click again and select [Format Cells]
Select [Protect], we need to check [Lock] and click [OK]
Finally, we need to set worksheet protection on the worksheet. Click [Review]-[Worksheet Protection] in the toolbar, enter the Excel password, and finally click [OK] to complete the protection of some cells.

What should I do if I forget my password?
After setting the excel password, we may forget the password, so that we can’t edit the excel file ourselves; another situation is that we downloaded the excel form template from the Internet, and after opening it, we found that excel protection was set. We don’t know the password, so we can’t copy and edit the form. The most direct way to solve the above situation is to retrieve the excel password, but micro office does not provide the function of retrieving the password, we can only keep trying various passwords by ourselves. Or you can try to use the tool to directly cancel the protection of excel without a password.
