1. Purpose of the experiment
Configure DHCP service on window server 2008
2. Implementation principle
DHCP server, or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, is a server-multi-client technology that allows a DHCP server to assign IP addresses to computers and other devices enabled as DHCP clients
3. Experimental topology
4. Experimental steps
Network environment preparation
Modify the network settings of windows server 2008, and change the network card to host only
Enter the virtual network editor
Modify the ip address of the virtual machine
Install a DHCP server
Add role DHCP server
Enter Select Network Connection Binding, check the IP address; the installation program will automatically check whether your server has a static IP address, and if it is set in step 2, it will be detected and displayed.
Next go to "IPv4DNS Settings", you need to enter your parent domain name and the IP address of the DNS server, this domain will be used for all the scopes we created on this DHCP server; when DHCP updates the IP address information, the corresponding The DNS update will synchronize the association between the name of the computer and the IP address. We don’t have a parent domain here, so we just write it casually
Whether to set the WINS server address parameter, the default option is "Applications on this network do not need WINS"; (If necessary, correctly set the IP address of the target WINS server.)
In the next "DHCP Scope " window, click " Add " on the right, we can set the applicable scope of the DHCP server according to the IP address allocation of the local LAN , and select the " Activate this scope " option at the same time, and click " OK " to complete the addition.
DHCPv6 stateless mode, select disabled mode; in Windows Server 2008, support for the next generation IP address specification IPv6 is added by default, but IPv6 is rarely used in the current network status, so you can choose to disable DHCPv6 for this server. state mode.
click to install
Open the management page of the DHCP server
At this point the DHCP server is installed
Let's set up the DHCP client and set the other virtual machine as the host only (the two virtual machines should be set to the same virtual network card to ensure that they are in the same LAN)
Set to automatically obtain ip and DNS addresses
Then check the detailed information and find that the virtual network card in this virtual machine has obtained an ip address
At this time, there are several more items in the DHCP server
