I submitted a paper on computers & security, and I still encountered some things that I didn't understand, so I recorded it here.
1. First open the official website, link: https://www.editorialmanager.com/cose/default2.aspx , click to upload a script,

2. If it is not a special article, choose Full Length Article

3. You need to upload these four files, Cover Letter: It is a letter to the editor. To publish a sci paper, you need to write a cover letter (submission postscript), which is mainly to write an explanation about the manuscript. It can be understood as recommending your own manuscript. It is an excellent moment to show scientific research results. Let the editor of the journal have a good impression of the paper. Some sci journals will give templates, some do not; Biographical Sketch: biography, introduction to the author, that is, a brief introduction to the author at the end of the published paper; Manuscript: upload your thesis script; Declaration of Interest Statement : The translation is the declaration of interest, this journal can directly download the template link: https://declarations.elsevier.com/home?journalAcronym=COSE , if you choose none, there is no other conflict of interest.


3. Select the classifiers in your field and choose according to your own interests.

4. Some agreement content, choose the corresponding content according to your needs.

5. You can write some reasons and highlights for recommending your paper, or you don’t have to write.

6. Fill in the relevant information of the thesis. Generally, you will identify it by yourself, and check it again if you have not identified it.Notice: The order of the authors should be kept the same as the order of the authors of the thesis. Be careful not to make mistakes when filling in the fund information. The corresponding author should link to TA's ORCID number.

Finally, if you are the corresponding author, you can directly generate a PDF. At this point, the general steps of submission are completed.

Note that there is a question in the middle asking if you are open access or subscribe,Students are not in a hurry to publish and so on, just choose to subscribe, but open access requires a self-publishing fee, which is very expensive!
