Game development - start towards the goal

My goal is to become a game developer. I actually like playing games since I was a child. I love games very much. As I grow up, experiencing games can no longer satisfy my pursuit. I want to make games by myself. What a cool thing games are.

When I was collecting planning suggestions for learning to make games on the Internet, I saw an article by a college student and the game he made. From the bottom of my heart, I felt that he was really good. Dialogue between them can attack and fight. Although it seems a little simple compared to the games I played before, but with the article explaining it, it is the first time for me to look at the game from the perspective of game development, and I also want to make such a game.

After I went to university, I also majored in computer as I wished. For a long time, I was groping for my future direction. I learned a lot of scattered knowledge and got in touch with many directions of computer. After intelligence, big data, web development, and acm, I still found that I like developing games the most, so I took game development as my future development direction.

The first game I made was written in C language and graphics library in my freshman year. It was an upgraded game for fighting monsters. There was no character movement or battle animation. It was just a simple background image with character images and dialogues underneath. Use the box to choose the plot and character behavior. The plot of the game is that the princess of the kingdom is captured by the dragon. The brave knight goes through the forest, desert and other environments to rescue the princess, and finally finds that the princess is the final boss (haha, such an old-fashioned plot) , There are four maps in total. Different maps have different monsters. Characters can choose to attack or use items or escape. Monsters have a chance to drop equipment after death. Characters can fight monsters to obtain equipment or choose to use gold coins to buy equipment from weapon dealers. It took a total of three weeks to complete it. I couldn't count how many bugs I encountered in the middle. I had to check the Internet for a long time every time. Fortunately, I finally made it. Although it is a game that is neither fun nor good-looking, I don't know how proud I was when I finished it. I finally made my own game too.

After determining the industry in which I will engage in game development in the future, I will spend more time learning game development-related aspects, and at the same time I want to record my learning process with words, so my blog was born, and at the same time In the process of learning, I will record some important knowledge points, which will be convenient for me to consolidate later, and may also provide some help to the learners who see my blog.
