Dell XPS U disk boot settings

Today I want to reinstall the system for dell xps. After installing Lao Maotao in the U disk, restart the computer, press the shortcut key F12, and indeed enter the boot, but there is no option for usb to start, and I can’t solve it even after searching online. Finally, I groped and solved it through the following methods.
Solution steps:

  1. Restart the computer and press the F2 key to enter the boot settings;
  2. Click boot configuration, find secure boot, then close it, and click Save after closing; see Figure 1 below;
  3. Click integrated devices, open the enable thunderbolt boot support button and enable thunderbolt pre-boot modules below, and then click save; see Figure 2 below for details;
  4. Exit the boot setting, press F12 when restarting the computer, and the USB boot option will appear at this time, click this option to enter the Lao Maotao software, and reinstall the system;
  5. For the sake of safety, after reinstalling the system, you can restart and press F2 to restore the system default settings;

The reason why this computer can’t boot directly from usb I guess is because the computer has no usb interface at all, but only a thunder interface, so you need to enable the thunder boot support first, and then when restarting, the computer can read the usb through the thunder interface, and later The operation is the same as other computers. Lao Maotao remember to update the driver after installing the software. Generally, the driver is relatively old and may have some bugs.
