China has become the world's largest industrial robot application country for nine consecutive years, and it is also the world's largest producer of robots. In 2022, the robot industry's revenue will exceed 170 billion yuan (RMB, the same below). With the implementation of the "Robot +" Application Action Plan, the depth and breadth of robot applications has accelerated.

The installed capacity of industrial robots exceeds 50% of the world

At the 2023 "Robot +" conference held this week, Wang Hong, deputy director of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, introduced that in 2022, the operating income of the entire Chinese robot industry will exceed 170 billion yuan, and the output of industrial robots will reach 443,000 sets. , the output of service robots exceeded 6.458 million sets, and the installed capacity of industrial robots exceeded 50% of the global total, ranking first in the world for nine consecutive years.

"The global industrial robot market is now in the second round of rapid growth. In the past ten years, the average annual growth rate of industrial robot market sales is 12%, and China's is 28%, which is more than twice the global growth rate." China Machinery Industry Federation Robot Introduction by Chen Dan, deputy secretary general of the branch.

By 2021, the density of robots in China's manufacturing industry will reach 322 units per 10,000 people. Chen Dan said that the global ranking of China's manufacturing machine density has risen from 25th in 2015 to 5th in 2021, surpassing the United States, but there is still a big gap from South Korea and Singapore, and there is still a lot of room for improvement in the future.

The basic establishment of the industrial chain system

China is also the largest producer of robots in the world. Liu Quan, deputy chief engineer of the China Electronics and Information Industry Development Research Institute, said that China's robotics industry chain system has basically been established, and individual champion companies in the field of robotics, as well as specialized and new "little giant" companies are emerging.

Wang Hong said that China's robot innovation capabilities continue to improve, and core components such as high-precision reducers and intelligent controllers have made breakthroughs, which have continuously increased output value, and landmark products such as space robots, deep-sea robots, and medical robots have achieved important breakthroughs.

China's robot industry is moving from low-end to mid-to-high end. Zhao Jie, a professor at Harbin Institute of Technology and director of the Institute of Robotics, believes that China's robotics industry needs to focus on four capabilities to pursue high-end and high-quality development, namely, the ability to continuously supply innovative foundations, and the independent availability of common technologies for core basic components. control capability, continuous improvement capability of major technical equipment quality and application, and quality infrastructure service support capability.

Robot application depth and breadth accelerated expansion

Manufacturing is an important field of robot application. Chen Dan said that automobiles and electronics are the most important application industries for robots. In addition, the demand for robots in metal processing, plastics and chemicals, food manufacturing, mining, and textiles is also growing rapidly.

It is understood that China's industrial robots have covered 60 major industries of the national economy and 168 industry categories. Service robots have been innovatively applied in logistics, education and entertainment, medical and health fields, and have continuously bred new industries, new models, and new formats. In addition to industrial robots, the application of service robots in China is becoming more and more extensive, and special robots have been deeply expanded, and robots have begun to enter all aspects of human life and society.

In 2022, four departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced 77 excellent robot application scenarios, covering agriculture, construction, medical care, mining and other fields. In January of this year, the Seventeen Departments released the "Robot +" Application Action Plan, which proposed to focus on ten major areas of manufacturing, energy, trade logistics, and medical health, and promote more than 200 high-level innovative application models and extensive application results. Typical application scenarios of robots.

At present, a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating, and a new generation of information technology, biotechnology, new energy, new materials, etc. are deeply integrated with robot technology. Wang Hong said that China's robotics industry is ushering in a period of strategic opportunities for self-reliance, self-improvement, replacement and leapfrogging, and it is urgent to accelerate the high-quality development path of "from existing to excellent" technology and "from large to strong" industry.
