Recently, the winners list of the finals of the "2022 China Open Source Innovation Competition" was officially announced. The FISCO BCOS domestic open source alliance ecosystem initiated and promoted by WeBank won the second prize for its innovative development and outstanding contributions in open source ecological construction. It is also the only open source community in the blockchain field that won the award in this competition.
The "2022 China Open Source Innovation Competition" is jointly sponsored by the China Internet Development Foundation, the China Cyberspace Research Institute, and the China Internet Investment Fund under the guidance of the Information Development Bureau of the Central Cyberspace Administration of China. Focusing on the country's major strategic needs in the cultivation of open source talents and the construction of an open source ecosystem, focusing on the technical fields related to "stuck necks" and cutting-edge technology fields such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and cloud native, the open source track is set up. Provide a platform for enterprises, developers, and entrepreneurs in the domestic open source industry to display, communicate, and cooperate, help the high-quality development of the open source ecosystem, stimulate the vitality of open source innovation, select excellent open source projects, cultivate open source practice talents, and help the construction of the open source ecosystem.
FISCO BCOS is co-created by the Golden Chain Alliance Open Source Working Group led by WeBank. It is a comprehensive open source, domestically-made, safe and controllable financial-level alliance chain underlying platform, and has industry-leading advantages in terms of performance, ease of use, and security. FISCO BCOS has adhered to the concept of localization from the very beginning of design, helping the country to promote the implementation of key technology safety and controllable strategies, and has achieved complete localization support from national secret algorithms, operating systems, chip architectures to server platforms. Currently, FISCO BCOS has been upgraded and iterated to v3.0, with single-chain performance exceeding 100,000 TPS, and a general-purpose national secret basic component has been further built to support multi-language, multi-terminal, and full-link national secret access.
With leading technological advantages, the domestic open source alliance chain ecosystem built around FISCO BCOS brings together more than 4,000 institutions, over 90,000 individual members, 38 certified cooperative companies, and more than 400 core contributors. In addition, the community has also carried out talent co-education cooperation with hundreds of well-known colleges and universities, cultivating more than 60,000 talents in the blockchain industry.
The active ecology has also promoted the implementation of innovative applications in many different fields and industries. As of the end of 2022, FISCO BCOS has supported more than 300 benchmark applications in key areas related to the national economy and people's livelihood, such as government affairs, finance, medical care, double carbon, agriculture, and cross-border data circulation. Continuing to contribute to the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and rural revitalization.
In addition, in order to continue to promote the construction of an open source ecosystem, FISCO BCOS has held more than 600 online and offline activities across the country, building a bridge of communication for the majority of blockchain practitioners. In February of this year, the "2022 Industrial Blockchain Annual Summit and FISCO BCOS 5th Anniversary Ecological Conference" was successfully held as one of the series of activities of the Shenzhen International Financial Technology Festival.
