Hard Disk Data Migration Using DiskGenius

  • Clone Hard Drive - DiskGenius

  • 1. Migrate disk

    • Select the disk you want to migrate, click Tools-Clone Disk
    • First select the source hard disk, click OK
    • Then select the hard disk you want to migrate to, and click OK
    • Check whether the original hard disk and the target hard disk are correct, and you can also make secondary adjustments to this space. Finally, if there are no problems, click start.
    • Afterwards a dialog box will pop up saying that all data on the target hard drive will be deleted. we click OK
    • Here you can choose live migration, or you can choose to restart to PE for data migration. I don't want to affect the work I am currently doing, so I choose this hot migration
    • How long the migration will take depends on the amount of data to be migrated and your own hard read/write speed
    • Finally, it took an hour to complete the migration of a T data
  • 2. Migrate system disk

    • If there is a system partition in the disk to be migrated, then directly select the system migration in the tool
    • Then directly select the target disk
    • By default, this system function only migrates the system partition to a new disk. If the disk where the system partition is located has other partitions, we can manually choose to migrate to another disk, and then click Start
    • Finally, confirm whether your previous selection is correct. If there is no problem, click OK.
    • We choose hot migration here
    • Then there's a long waiting time
    • After the data migration is complete, a dialog box will appear
      • I choose N here,
  • 3. Migrate partition

    • Select the partition you want to migrate, click Clone,
    • Select the hard disk you want to migrate to, and click OK
    • Finally, check whether the source partition and target partition are correct. If there is no problem, click Start
