Rust+Internet of Things smart alarm solution, Rust corrosion smart circuit tutorial

Generally, we use the notification function of Rust+ app more frequently. After Rust+ is paired with the server, it can realize the message notification of various trigger events. (such as death notification, home raid warning, teammate online notification, smart circuit alarm, etc.) These are the effects achieved by the combination of Rust+ and game circuits.

In addition to these, Rsut+ also supports connecting smart devices at home to realize Internet of Things interactive functions. Rust+ has made data connection with the foreign interface service platform IFTTT (if this then that), and many commonly used foreign applications have also been connected to the platform. In this way, Rust+ can use IFTTT to interact with other applications. Let me introduce the Rust IoT smart alarm light solution I use!

1. The effect after realization:

In a Rust game (such as choosing to go offline), when my game character is killed, Rust+ will send an alarm message to my mobile phone and the desk lamp on the desk will automatically turn on the red light.

The red alarm light automatically lights up when the game character is killed

Automatically turn on the green light when a teammate is online

The light turns blue when my smart alarm circuit is triggered

2. Preparation

(1) Prepare HP Hue smart devices and Rust-related apps

(1) I chose Hue colorful light bulbs for smart devices. You can connect the light bulbs to desk lamps, bedside lamps or ceiling lights, or you can choose other Hue colorful lights from HP (for example: light strips, ceiling lights, ambient light, etc.).

HP Hue colorful smart lights need the support of HP bridge (latest version 2.1, 2.0, 1.0).

Choose from Hue's other lamps to create a unique atmosphere desktop

 (2) In addition to smart lamps, the protagonists also have Rust+, Hue, and IFTTT APPs.

You need to download HP Hue (connect to smart devices to adjust lights), Rust+ (connect to game server to send alarm notifications), and IFTTT (you can download the APP separately or log in to your IFTTT account in Rust+) in the app store.

3. Implement configuration steps

(1) Configuration and association of Rust+ and services

1. Apple users can download it in the App Store, and Android users can download it in the corresponding store, Google Play Store, or Rust Box official account.

2. After installation, you need to log in to your Steam account for the first activation . Due to network restrictions, most areas need to be accelerated to log in normally.

3. After testing, the free accelerators with a relatively high success rate for Apple mobile phones include (small black box accelerators, UU accelerators, and other ladder types) to choose Steam applications for acceleration applications . Android phones can choose (small black box accelerator, UU accelerator, Steam++ accelerator, other ladder types), and choose Steam application (application or web page) for acceleration. After successfully logging in for the first time, you can disconnect the accelerator , and you don't need to hang up the accelerator again when you use it again .

4. After connecting the accelerator, log in to the Steam account.

log in steam account

5. After successfully logging in, you will enter the Rust+ main interface, showing that there is no server available. This is because it has not been associated with the game. You can view the official association tutorial.

Pair with game tutorial

6. It is very simple to pair with the server. After joining the game server , press the ECS button to switch to the game menu interface. You can see the [ Supporting application ] menu. After clicking, click pairing on the right interface . At this time, the mobile app will receive Pairing notification, just click on the link.

This step is the key

7. After Rust+ is successfully paired with the server, it can actually realize various functions of notification and alarm on the mobile phone.

(2), Philips HUE smart light configuration

 1. Power on the bridge and use a network cable to connect to the network (plug it into the router).

When all three lights are on, the installation is successful.

2. Open the Hue APP just downloaded, choose to add Hue Bridge (the mobile phone needs to be connected to the same WIFI as the bridge, if the automatic search cannot find the device, turn on the computer, check the IP address of the bridge in the network, and then click on Hue Select more options in the APP to manually enter the IP pairing), press the middle button, and the connection is successful.

 Search and connect bridge

3. Add and configure lamps.

Fixtures can also be added via the serial number printed on the bulb

4. After pairing the Hue APP with the bridge and connecting the smart lamps, you can configure the lighting color and scene in the Hue APP.

You can control the color and brightness of the bulb in Hue in real time

At this point, the Hue smart device is also configured, and then use IFTTT to pair Rust+ with the Hue APP.

(3) Pairing Rust+ with Hue smart devices

Rust+ and Philips Hue are two ecosystems. With the help of IFTTT platform, the data communication between Rust game data and Hue smart devices is realized.

1. Open the Rust+ Personal Settings Center

Hitting IFTTT in Rust +

Login to create event

The IFTTT platform also needs to register an account. After registration, you can log in. After logging in, you can see the related events shared by other players, such as the following picture:

Utilize in-game smart circuit triggers

other trigger events

event associated game character

Of course, we can also create a new custom event, as shown in the above figure, after logging in to steam in IFTTT, we can associate the current game character.

After setting the trigger event (IF event) in RUST, set the then event (Then That), click ADD to add, search for Hue in the application search, and select the Philips Hue app to set.

Select or create a new response event

Other response events

There are also many existing response events in the Hue app, as shown in the figure above. Of course, you can also customize the response event. After selecting the response event, you can configure the device that responds to the event, and click Save.

Select the device that performs the response event

After saving the response event, click Connect to open.

 Opt-in connection in IFTTT

After IFTTT configures Rust+ and Hue, open the connection, so that the alarm events in Rust+ can be sent to the Hue central control to control the action of the smart light. After everything is ready, you can test it first, and you can go offline if there is no problem. go to bed!
