Switched to network security at the age of 26, and successfully landed security development!

foreword

I only formally studied network security on September 22 last year. Before that, I worked in a state-owned unit for 4 years. In Changsha, my salary was only 5,000 yuan a month, and I couldn’t see any hope of promotion. There must be a relationship.

Moreover, the atmosphere in state-owned units is that you do a lot, and the leaders think you are ambitious, but you don't do much, but the leaders think you are a good person. I'm only 26 years old, and I really can't stand this kind of work atmosphere. I have suppressed my emotions for a long time, and I want to jump out, but I haven't been able to find a suitable opportunity. Because a friend around me is doing security research and development in Changsha. He has worked for four or five years and can get a monthly salary of 30,000 in Beijing. To be honest, I am really envious, which is far beyond my cognition.

So after a friend’s recommendation, I started to study network security. I studied it for about 5 months. On March 6 this year, I found a security research and development job in Changsha. I packed a year’s work experience and a monthly salary of 9K five insurances and one housing fund, this is a successful landing. When I first started learning, I considered going to offline training, but my friend didn’t recommend it, because he was trained. He told me that going to offline training classes is almost useless. After I go, I will find that the whole process is on my own. Self-study, the teacher leaves after class, it is better to watch videos to learn more efficiently.

Because my friend is someone who has experienced it, I have to listen to his advice. Besides, the training fee of 30,000 is my salary for half a year without eating or drinking, so I am really reluctant. So I started to study by myself, because I have a friend who is in this line of work, so I avoided a lot of detours at the beginning, and he gave me good advice, so it is very important to have a big boss to learn network security.

Because everyone who does security has a circle, so after being recommended by a friend, he asked me to join the research and development technology discussion group in their circle. Most of them are successful bosses. During the whole study period, I really got a lot of help from them. Of course, there are also some people who are still studying, and these are all recommended by friends to get together. So I suggest that those beginners who are still learning about safety must get to know some big names in the industry, as a beginner can get a lot of help.

From my learning experience, I think there are two factors that make self-study successful.

The first point is their own problems. Although there are many people who want to change careers to learn safety, there are only a small number of people who strongly want to change careers to learn better. And most people just learn safety with the mentality of trying, which is completely impossible.

Therefore, whether you can succeed in your studies and get a job depends on whether your desire is strong. I belong to the very strong one, because I can't bear the current working atmosphere, and I envy my friends who can get a monthly salary of 30,000 yuan. These factors have prompted me to study very hard.

In addition, I can start watching videos for self-study after get off work, until 12 o'clock in the evening, so I can reach the level of employment within 5 months. The second point is that there are big bosses to guide you. It is very difficult to find out the whole process by yourself. For a person who is not a professional, he will "know how to start" from the beginning.

Not to mention that the countless bugs encountered in the learning process are difficult to solve, because we will encounter countless problems in the learning process, and sometimes a small problem can bother us for several hours, which will lead to our failure. The learning efficiency is very low. When this happens too often, the confidence will be hit, and I feel that I am not suitable for learning this line of work, so I finally give up.

And when a big guy goes to answer you, you will get the answer quickly, and you can understand why you did this, where the problem occurred, and the learning efficiency will be very high. So the summary is that you learn consciously and actively, and the boss guides you all the way. In fact, learning is such a simple thing. It is nothing more than these two key elements. Without one of them, it is difficult to succeed.

Questions that must be paid attention to in self-study safety:

(1) Laws and regulations As a security technician, how to avoid breaking the law unintentionally due to ignorance and getting yourself into unnecessary difficulties. In addition, only by knowing where the boundaries are, can you better resist temptation and ensure your own safety and freedom.

(2) Communication and communication Don’t think that you can succeed in self-study and reach a certain level. It must be inseparable from the guidance of many professionals. Therefore, it is especially important to get to know some big guys. The circle can really determine what level we can reach. .

(3) Efficiency: As fast as you can, if you have decided to get started and learn safety, don’t procrastinate and put most of your energy into it. If you are in the kind of situation where you spend three days fishing and two days drying the net, I advise you to give up as soon as possible and don't waste time. Isn't it good to have this time to exercise?

(4) Learning mentality must be determined to change careers to learn, the strength of your own will determines whether you can successfully change careers.

Learning suggestions for beginners who are self-study safety:

1. Understand today's market, which major technologies you need to master to get a job quickly, and what kind of talents the current enterprises need. This is the direction and goal of your learning.

2. Systematic learning plan: There is an overall learning outline. You must know what you study every day, what exercises to do to consolidate knowledge, and what projects you should complete after a stage of learning. Carry out step-by-step learning instead of blind learning.

3. Guidance from a big boss: As a beginner, you must remember to ask a big boss to guide you, even if you spend a little money, it doesn't matter, as long as you can learn the technology well. Self-exploration is basically a detour. Why do many people give up after learning for a month or two, because they don't know where the road is, and the whole person is confused, so it is easy to give up. But if you have a big boss to guide you, he will make a detailed study plan for you, arrange everything for you, and answer your questions during the whole learning process, so that your learning will be clear, simple and efficient.

Safety main learning content:

You can refer to this learning route. I came out to find a job after studying the second part, which is more than enough.

In the end, I also sorted out some tutorials on seed materials and notes during my study, etc. Most of them are of high quality. I hope it will be helpful to everyone!
