eNSP Lite is Huawei's newly developed network environment simulation software in the field of data communications. Compared with the local deployment mode of the old emulator eNSP, the cloud-based deployment mode of the new emulator eNSP Lite makes the software more flexible during use and supports more functions. At the same time, on the basis of retaining the basic functions of the eNSP operation interface of the old simulator, eNSP Lite also adds new functions, such as the tcpdump function, which can replace wireshark to complete the capture and analysis of packets. According to the manual, the following is an introduction to the experimental interface of the new version of the emulator eNSP Lite from three parts: login, sandbox creation, and basic device operations.
1. Log in to eNSP Lite
The new version of the emulator eNSP Lite is based on cloud deployment, so you need to log in with a Huawei Uniportal account before the experiment. If you don’t have an account, you can go to Huawei’s official website to register. The login interface is as shown in the figure below:
2. Create a sandbox
After successfully logging in, you will enter the experiment interface. The first step in creating an experiment is to create a sandbox, which is not available in the old version of eNSP. It can be understood as creating an experiment folder, which is used to store a separate simulation experiment (personal understanding).
The name of the sandbox can be modified, and the sandbox also supports import and export. The interface is as follows:
