This is an article I wrote in a Chinese medicine forum. I am a semi-old man, and I have been learning English for a year. Of course, I Not a master of English, my method of learning English may be useful to you. I turned the article over,

how did I learn English from scratch
hahaha .
In the eyes of many people, English is difficult, as I used to think. In fact, English is the best language to learn, and it has rules. It is far easier to learn than our native language Chinese. Most don't need a year to pass the test. But you need friend skills.
A lot of people must have thought I was dizzy. Don't worry, it's not too late for you to say this again when I'm done.
I used to learn English just like you, fishing for three days and throwing nets for two days. For the same reason, it is difficult. If we can't learn it, it's actually the wrong method we use. Because the current method of learning English or the method of advancing according to this grammatical style, when will it end?

I learned a few times and gave up a few times. I was both discouraged and started to have ideas. I feel that the most important thing in English is listening. If you don't understand, how can you spell it, and how can you know what other people say. Besides, you will have to speak in English in the future, but the Chinese are hard-spoken and can't speak English well. So, I think I learned the wrong way, in fact, the first is to solve the problem of blunt speech. I spent more than a month, carefully facing the phonetic symbols, facing the requirements one by one, and pronouncing them carefully. This is important to lay the foundation for you to speak standard English in the future. This is the first thing I learned after thinking about it. I stopped learning grammar, sentences, and words. Because of this method of study, people waste time and cannot learn English well. When I learn phonetic symbols well, I will find that it is very easy to read and write words, and words are easy to remember. There are many words, and just by listening, I can spell them out roughly, some are spelled correctly, and some are spelled incorrectly. I'll correct it if it's not right. Remember very well. English suddenly became easier to learn. A good foundation of phonetic transcription can not only help me to pronounce words accurately and distinguish words with similar pronunciations effectively, but also enable me to read-only in English effectively, and can also listen to and read aloud accurately. I found out that learning English is not good. It turned out to be a big bay. Now most people can't learn or speak English well, and that's the reason. Isn't that so? Can't pronounce it accurately. If you can't pronounce it correctly, you certainly don't know and can't tell what the foreigner is saying. Most and almost all school children. are all shortcomings in this area, thus preventing them from using English effectively - despite their excellent grammar and vocabulary. The solution is actually very simple, which is to spend a month or two carefully correcting the phonetic symbols.

The first step is to learn phonetic symbols, and then to learn words, don't learn grammar and sentences, those things will waste your time. Then you have to ask, do you want to memorize words, the answer is not to memorize words deliberately. Can you master the words without working hard to memorize them? Yes. You can see how I did it.
How many words do you need to master to solve general English problems? Answer: At least 5000. How long will it take to master? Answer: The normal brain is three to four months old, up and down half an hour a day. Is this starting from scratch? Answer: Yes. After mastering these 5000 words, can they be used in odd jobs? Answer: No, only the main meaning of the word can be used, other meanings and usages can only be accumulated later.
These are just personal experiences, and I'll talk about them tomorrow.
