Google announced a Chrome Enterprise Connectors Framework , a set of plug-and-play integrations for Okta, BlackBerry, Samsung, and Splunk designed to protect users' access to Chrome OS and the browser and improve network security.
"These integrations provide better protection for users and endpoints, and give IT teams more tools to report security incidents. Overall, we're making it easier to help organizations work toward a zero-trust model."
According to the presentation, Chrome browser and Chrome OS can now be integrated in the following areas:
- For identity and user access: Netskope Security Cloud integration optimizes user access to critical data based on authenticating users, devices and user-requested actions. The Okta Identity Engine's policy support for Chrome OS provides authentication controls.
- For endpoint management across mobile and desktop: There are new BlackBerry UEM and Samsung Knox Manage integrations. In addition to these two new integrations, VMware Workspace ONE will update its existing integrations to the new Chrome Policy API, which will soon be available through Google's Trusted Tester Program.
- For security insights and reporting: There are new Splunk Cloud Platform integrations, and Palo Alto Networks and Crowdstrike integrations will be available soon through the Trusted Tester Program.

To protect sensitive data on devices, Google has also introduced Chrome OS Data Controls, which allow IT to define in Chrome OS when to trigger actions on different actions, including copy and paste, screen capture, printing, and other activities that can lead to data loss ) to prevent data leakage on endpoints.
