Ask everyone if human life should be respected? The expected answer is yes. But when we are proud of the huge territory of the Dayuan Empire, have we ever thought of the lives of those who died tragically under the Mongolian iron cavalry? Man is a contradictory unity.

First define the problem as I understand it. Procedure refers to the method, means and process of doing things, and the result is the purpose, the ultimate goal.

I have always believed that as long as the goal is right, the means can be compromised. Everyone on Weibo is the embodiment of justice, including myself. But digging into the blog post, I found that this is actually just an appearance. In order to argue an issue with others, attacking and insulting the other's family members, beating the other party, to some extent exposed the value system behind these people. Whether it was resisting the beatings of Japanese goods, cousins or professor Han from Beihang University, there were crowds of people who attacked, abused and beaten with the purpose of justice. Their value system is to do whatever is necessary as long as the end is right. And these phenomena are what I dislike the most. I think back then, didn't the Red Guards act with the support of such thoughts?

So, I think I was wrong, and these phenomena are the best reasons to admit it. The fairness and justice of the procedure are far more important than the fairness and justice of the purpose. It is difficult for onlookers to judge whether the purpose is just or not, because the purpose is often transformed into a slogan and shouted out. Fairness and justice are often just a bunker for the purpose. Existing contradictions are used and used out of context. After all, the purpose is just a point of view. But the procedure is different. The procedure is a process and it takes a long time to implement. If the procedure is unfair and unjust, it will be easy for bystanders to judge it during the long process, and it will be difficult to cover it up for a long time. Procedural justice may let bad and evil slip through the net, but it makes people psychologically stable and gives everyone a clear basis for doing things. However, ignoring the purpose of procedural justice makes people uneasy. Because of different perspectives, they are completely opposite in the eyes of everyone. Just as, when "a person insists on doing the same thing for a long time", some people say that it is "persistent", and some people say that it is "obsessed". Fighting gangsters with gangsters and suppressing tyranny with violence is by no means our ideal world, but only what we hate the most right now.
