Faced with a bunch of white papers and a bunch of blockchain projects, first of all, the challenging question encountered is:

why is this project and this application suitable for blockchain Do? What are the advantages over other methods?

Then, we have to think about what problems the blockchain is suitable for solving, and what is its core key. Many people will echo what others say, what cannot be tampered with, what is anonymous, what is decentralized, and so on. These may all be superficial things. The real core is that, as Bitcoin, the blockchain manifesto said, it is conducting a great and unprecedented social experiment. So, what is the experiment? Perhaps, the following six words are the basis of the experiment, which is the touchstone of the blockchain.

Openness, impartiality, fairness

Openness means that all data on the blockchain is public and permanently stored, and anyone can view it at any time, anywhere. The advantage of data disclosure is that it truly realizes the transparency of information, and there is no information asymmetry. Of course, the disclosure here is not unreserved disclosure, because in many cases, only the act of uploading encrypted data to the chain is disclosed. But this is enough, in the future, the data owner can open it with his key at any time for everyone to verify. With this, it may be difficult for middlemen to obtain high fees due to information asymmetry.

Fairness means that all data on the blockchain is approved by multi-party consensus and signed with a private key, which cannot be denied or denied. In addition, the data is stored in the chain, if there is no more than 51% of the computing power, it is basically impossible to tamper. In this way, impartiality is achieved without human involvement. All data on the chain is an undeniable fact. The evidence preservation service is based on this feature.

It is fair to say that no central organization can control and profit alone. All people have the opportunity to participate and profit, mainly through some workload or proof of stake, to obtain tokens, and Consume, exchange tokens. POW is a model of more work and more, POS is a model of elites and elites, and DPOS is a democratic centralism. In short, there are different ways to make fairness available to everyone.

With these three touchstones, it is easy to examine whether a white paper or a project is truly inseparable from blockchain projects and applications. If these three characteristics cannot be met, then it may be a blockchain for the sake of blockchain, not a real landing.
