Q: Is there anything you can share about your own business?
Meiyou is an Internet company founded in April 2013 that focuses on serving female users. With the concept of "making women more beautiful and healthier", it has successfully created an industrial closed loop of tools + community + e-commerce, in the vertical segment of women. Achieve industry-leading status. The company's Meiyou APP takes menstrual records as the entry point. After gradually monopolizing the women's menstrual health market, it expands the user market layout from menstruation to pregnancy, pregnancy and childcare, covering women's complete menstrual cycle.
There is also a mother and baby community APP Youbaobao, which meets the different needs of women in the three stages of pregnancy, pregnancy and childcare. It is the second largest mother and baby community in China. The shopping guide e-commerce APP Youzi Street, through big data analysis, recommends related products to users according to user preferences, which greatly improves the shopping efficiency of users.
Q: productHow many daily active / users are there now?
Up to now, Meiyou has more than 100 million female users and more than 7 million daily active users. It is the largest pure female service platform in China. Youbaobao has more than 15 million users and more than 2 million daily active users. Since its launch, it has grown rapidly and is now the second largest maternal and child community in China.
Q: What were the business needs when you first cooperated?
Because there are a large number of image files and multimedia files in Meiyou's APP , in addition to the need for basic cloud storage services, it also wants to speed up content distribution through CDN services. Therefore, Meiyou uses products and services such as Alibaba Cloud CDN , OSS , max-compute , ECS , green network image identification, and DDoS protection to ensure smoother business development.
Q: Did you conduct research when choosing a service provider?
In fact, in the beginning, Meiyou used another product. However, Meiyou pursues the ultimate user experience, hoping to provide users with a better user experience when browsing information, communities, and albums on the client side. So I chose Alibaba Cloud.
We choose Alibaba Cloud for the following reasons:
( 1 ) By tracking and comparing the visits of Meiyou users using Alibaba Cloud CDN and competing CDNs in all parts of the country and overseas, Alibaba Cloud optimized the routes for Meiyou, and achieved A lower error rate than competing products, which is something we value very much.
( 2 ) From OSS cloud storage to CDN , Alibaba Cloud provides mature and complete solutions, and has done some customized development for our needs, including udf deployment for intelligent image cropping, udf deployment for similar image recognition , webp format support, Video transcoding support, etc., saves network traffic while meeting our business needs.
( 3 ) As a large factory, we are connected with so many large customers at the same time, but the service and response of Alibaba Cloud students are still very timely and fast, which makes us very satisfied.
Q: What product solutions are available?
OSS , CDN , max-compute , ECS , green network image identification, DDoS protection, short video SDK , etc.
Q: How long did it take for the official access? How does access work? How did the two sides successfully complete the remote docking?
Meiyou and Youbao were connected in the first phase, which took about a month. When performing cdn switching, we chose to do it during the low-peak period of late-night users. Alibaba Cloud students have a special person to support the company on-site, and conduct online traffic switching in the middle of the night with our technical students. When I switched for the first time, I encountered some setbacks due to compatibility issues with competing products. Alibaba Cloud students responded in a timely manner, and took a week to carry out custom development, and finally solved the problem. In the second switch, it was successfully completed.
The e-commerce Grapefruit Street will be connected in the second phase. Thanks to the experience of the first phase, the access to Yuzi Street was very smooth.
Q: After the access, what is the significant improvement to the business?
A: With the help of Alibaba Cloud cloud computing platform, in terms of architecture, it has developed from a pure computer room hosting server to the current hybrid cloud architecture, and the computer room and Alibaba Cloud are connected through a dedicated line. It is worth mentioning that the access error rate of Alibaba Cloud CDN is lower than that of competing products. This is also a big business improvement after we access Alibaba Cloud.
At the same time, Meiyou's APP also uses the Alibaba Cloud short video SDK , which integrates video recording, importing and music editing functions. The fast access enriches the product functions and satisfies users' more diversified and personalized recording and editing functions. Sharing needs has increased the activity of our community users.
Q: In your opinion, how should enterprises embrace cloud computing and choose the right cloud service?
Meiyou's business is developing rapidly, and technical students need to focus more on solving business and product needs. For the underlying basic services, when cloud service manufacturers can provide mature solutions, we do not need to repeat the work of building wheels, so as to put more investment in technology and product requirements that are closely integrated with business, from The point of view of ROI is also very reasonable.
Q: In the future, based on your own business, what are your expectations for Alibaba Cloud?
Because I was in Alibaba Cloud before, I know that some good technologies have actually been used in Alibaba's products, but it has taken a long time to launch the products of Alibaba Cloud. I very much hope to open up Alibaba's technology more quickly, so that more enterprises can use it through Alibaba Cloud. For example, the DDoS protection I am focusing on now supports http2 , supports httpdns , ptyhon udf with max-compute , etc.
In addition, Alibaba Cloud has very powerful basic service capabilities. I hope that Alibaba Cloud can customize and encapsulate some functions for the industry. For example, in the process of connecting live broadcasts this quarter, we are also looking forward to some upcoming functions of Alibaba Cloud.
