When we use the computer when the Windows XP system fails, and when we turn it on again and cannot boot normally, we usually press the F8 key. The F8 key is the "safe mode" of the computer. 1. Network Safe Mode

4. Enable startup log
Starts Windows XP while logging to a file all drivers and services loaded by the system. The file is named ntbtlog.txt and is located in the Windir directory. This log is useful for determining the exact cause of system startup problems.
5. Debug mode
Start Windows XP while sending debug information to other computers via serial cable. If you are using or have installed Windows XP on your computer using Remote Installation Services, you can see additional options related to restoring your system using Remote Installation Services.
6. Enable VGA mode
Boot Windows XP with basic VGA drivers. This mode is useful when installing a new graphics card driver that prevents Windows XP from booting properly, or when a malfunction is caused by an improper refresh rate setting. When starting Windows XP in Safe Mode, only the most basic graphics drivers are used.
7. Safe Mode
When Windows XP is started in Safe
Mode , the system starts with only the most basic files and drivers. Entering Safe Mode is an important step in diagnosing failures. If you can't identify the problem after booting up in Safe Mode, or if you can't boot up in Safe Mode at all, then you may need to use the Emergency Repair Disk ERD feature to repair your system.
8. Last known correct configuration
Selecting "Start Windows XP with the 'Last Known Good Configuration'" is one way to fix problems such as newly added drivers that don't match the hardware. Started in this way, Windows XP only restores the information under the registry key HklmSystemCurrentControlSet. Any changes made in other registry keys remain unchanged.
