Let's talk about hybrid cloud today.

 

 1. Why you need a hybrid cloud

 

The size of the enterprise is different, and the control of technology and security is different, so the cloud has various deployment modes. According to different deployment methods, it is divided into public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud.

 

The public cloud leader AWS has always been unfamiliar with private clouds and hybrid clouds, and believes that public clouds are the trend.

At present, only the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has a large order of 600 million US dollars. Others rarely see AWS's actions on private clouds.

 

Another big cloud company, Microsoft, took advantage of the traditional data center and promoted hybrid cloud as soon as it came up, forming a differentiated advantage and achieving good results. In addition, Microsoft's comprehensive cloudification has also prompted Microsoft to turn its tide, its stock price has risen steadily, and its market value has exceeded 540 billion US dollars.

 

It is difficult for a private cloud to continuously provide fresh services like a public cloud. With the deepening of enterprise cloud transformation, enterprises will inevitably choose the public cloud with richer capabilities. If it can, because of security, enterprise architecture transformation costs and other reasons, this process cannot be accomplished overnight, so the demand for a compromise hybrid cloud is put forward.

From the cooperation between vmare and aws, VMware on aws can also see some signs of the weakening of private cloud. Vmare should see the trend of hybridization and the demands of its own transformation, which led him to cooperate with AWS. In addition, Gartner also gave an interesting prediction: by the end of 2017, nearly half of enterprises will adopt hybrid cloud deployment.

 

2. Decoding of hybrid cloud solutions

 

There are many solutions for hybrid cloud.

 

1. VMware on AWS (VMC) is a cooperative service that will be opened in the near future by VMware, the world's largest virtualization manufacturer, and AWS, the largest public cloud. The infrastructure is provided by AWS, and the software stack is provided by VMware, which provides users with a VMware environment on AWS, which can communicate with customers' existing on-premises data centers based on vmware, and can use various cloud services provided by AWS. 2. AWS's support for hybrid cloud is actually not very good, it can only be regarded as barely. The key to the core is that AWS believes that hybrid cloud is only a transitional route and does not seriously support it.

 It can be seen that the core idea of ​​AWS is to provide more services/capabilities from the perspectives of data, network, database, enterprise authentication management, etc. to help enterprises go to the public cloud. The public cloud is AWS's favorite.

 

3. Huawei's openstack cascading solution.

Huawei's IAAS chose openstack (OpenStack is a free software and open source cloud computing management platform project jointly developed and initiated by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and Rackspace, licensed under the Apache license.), in the community It is also very interesting to propose an openstack cascade scheme. The core idea of ​​this solution is to provide an upper-level proxy (resource orchestration layer), which is a complete openstack service that retains the core data model and open ecological APIs to expose the application, shielding the differences between the DCs below.
