The guests included academician Chen Zuoning, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice-chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, and the national key research and development projects for high-performance computing during the 13th Five-Year Plan. In the field of supercomputing, the footsteps of E-class (exascale) systems are already approaching us; in the field of artificial intelligence, the development in recent years is even more prosperous. This conference provides a communication platform for experts, scholars and enterprises in the field of supercomputing and artificial intelligence to promote technical exchanges and progress, in order to achieve the purpose of deep integration. At the same time, it also provides demand suggestions for the construction and application of my country's "13th Five-Year Plan" E-class supercomputer. It is expected that by 2020, the Shenwei E-class computer will be settled in Qingdao State Key Laboratory of Oceanography.


At the conference, the participating experts and scholars expressed their heartfelt congratulations and affirmations on the current application achievements of the "Sunway TaihuLight" supercomputer, and also expressed congratulations on the successful holding of this conference. Academician Chen Zuoning, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that with the explosive development of artificial intelligence, its demand for data and computing is constantly increasing. We can find the common structure of various algorithms by studying multiple types of algorithms in the field of artificial intelligence; Parallelization strategy, looking for a computing model suitable for large-scale and highly scalable conditions, and finally, based on the development of algorithms and applications, new guidelines for architecture design are put forward. Professor Qian Depei, head of the national high-performance computing key research and development project team during the "13th Five-Year Plan", briefly introduced the main challenges in the development of E-class supercomputers during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, and introduced the key technology verification prototype system for E-class computers. The urgency of establishing an ecological environment for high-performance computing applications based on domestic processors was discussed in depth. Professor Yang Guangwen, director of the National Supercomputing Wuxi Center, hopes to build a world-class supercomputing center, and hopes that more application units will join the industrialization of supercomputing technology in the future.
