Method 1: (measured)
The default firefox browser of ubuntu14.04 has no Chinese plug-in and needs to be installed.
Check the firefox version first, for example, my version is 47.0
Open the URL (measured): http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/47.0/linux-i686/xpi/
Or (not tested): http://download-origin.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/47.0/linux-i686/xpi/
Find the bottom zh-CN.xpi and save it.
Click the shortcut key ctrl+o in firefox to open the xpi you just saved. firefox will automatically prompt for installation. After installation, restart your browser.
If it doesn't work after restarting, find firefox's preferences -> content -> language and add Chinese.
Because I made this setting before installing xpi, it worked directly after restarting. I don't know if this step is necessary.
Method 2: (not tested)
