The Oracle Identity and Access Management 12c (12.2.1.3.0) suite has two components:

             Oracle Access Management (OAM)

             Oracle Identity Management (OIG)

Oracle Identity and Access Management supports two installation modes - standalone and collocated.

  Standalone installation mode:

  Standalone mode refers to a type of installation that is managed independently of WebLogic Server. However, Oracle Identity Management and Oracle Access Management 12c (12.2.1.3.0) do not support this mode. The only component you can install using standalone mode is the Oracle Identity Governance Design Console.

  Side-by-side installation mode:

  Collocated mode refers to the type of installation that is managed through WebLogic Server. This mode is supported by both Oracle Identity Management and Oracle Access Management. To install Oracle Identity and Access Management in collocated mode, you must also install the necessary related software.

  To prepare for your Oracle Identity and Access Management installation, verify that your system meets the basic requirements, and then obtain the correct installation software.

      1 Verify the system environment: Before beginning the installation, verify that the minimum system and network requirements are met.

      2 Check for any mandatory patches required prior to installation: Check the Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure Release Notes to see if there are any mandatory patches required by the software product to be installed.

      3 Get the appropriate allocation.

      4 Determine your installation directory: Verify that the installer can access or create the required installer directory. Also, verify that the directory exists on a system that meets the minimum requirements.

      5 Install prerequisite software: If you are configuring Oracle Access Management, you must first install Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure 12.2.1.3.0. If you are configuring Oracle Identity Governance, you must install Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure 12.2.1.3.0 and Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1.3.0 before installing Oracle Identity and Access Management.

      6 Install the software: Run the Oracle Universal Installer to install Oracle Identity and Access Management . Installing the software transfers the software to your system and creates an Oracle home.

      7 Select a database configuration file and review any required custom variables: Before installing the required schema in the database, review the information for any custom variables you need to set for the Oracle Identity and Access Management schema .

      8  Creation Schema: Run the Repository Creation Utility to create the schema required for the configuration.

      9  Create a WebLogic Domain: Use the Configuration Wizard/Assistant to Create and Configure a WebLogic Domain

      10Manage  and Prepare Your Domain for High Availability: Explore additional tools and resources to manage your domain and configure your domain for high availability.  

Run the Oracle Universal Installer to install Oracle Identity and Access Management .
