Special Section 301 Investigation Case of Sino-US Trade War

Uncle Trump of the United States signed an executive memorandum requesting a study and decision on whether to launch a "Section 301 investigation" into China's intellectual property-related trade policies and practices under the Trade Act of 1974. This investigation mainly focuses on the field of semiconductor microchips, which will obviously have an impact on the development of communication equipment manufacturers in the United States such as Huawei and ZTE. On the surface, this is an investigation of intellectual property rights, but in fact it is still a trade war. In 2016, Huawei applied for 52,550 domestic patents and 30,613 foreign patents, ranking first in the world for two consecutive years. Taking Huawei and ZTE to operate is not surprising.

  Trump's trade war

The so-called "Special Section 301" is the common name for Section 301 of the US Trade Act of 1974. According to this clause, when the USTR confirms that a certain policy or practice of a trading partner is unilaterally determined by the US to be "unfair", "unjust" or "unreasonable", it can initiate the suspension of imports of trade agreements, tariffs, etc. Restrictions, cancellation of duty-free treatment and forced signing of agreements and other sanctions, and unilateral and coercive retaliation against them.

Borrow the special code of 301 and tell us the stories related to 301 in our CDN!

After turning over all the CDN-related information, I finally found 301, hehe~! You can prank the calf again. That's the HTTP 301 jump.

The so-called 301 permanent redirect: the requested resource has been permanently moved to a new location, and any future reference to this resource should use one of several URIs returned by this response.

Similar is 302 Temporary redirect: the requested resource is now temporarily responding to the request from a different URI. Since such redirects are temporary, the client SHOULD continue to send future requests to the original address. Note: This response is cacheable only if specified in Cache-Control or Expires.

An example of a typical 302 jump

A few days ago, I met a customer who specifically asked our CDN to change the 302 jump to 301 jump. Everyone thinks that it is a redirect jump. Why do you have to change it?

This is a good question. Here's why: 302 jumps affect search engine results. HTTP302 redirection is only a temporary redirection, the search engine will crawl the new content and keep the old address, because the server returns 302, so the search engine considers the new URL to be temporary. And from another angle, 302 redirection is considered a cheating method by search engines, and excessive 302 temporary redirection on the site may lead to punishment by search engines, resulting in the site being downgraded. The 301 redirection is a permanent redirection. When the search engine crawls the new content, it also replaces the old URL with the redirected URL, which is more acceptable to the search engine.

I learned something new from the client, and I am very happy~!
