Firefox uses Google Container to isolate Google Chrome

Google Container is another add-on for Mozilla Firefox that uses the browser's new container technology to isolate websites from other browsers. As the name suggests, the Google Container moves Google requests to a quarantine area, isolating Google from other browsing data.

The extension is a fork of Mozilla's Facebook container plugin and can run inside other container plugins, such as the YouTube container, to isolate YouTube.

Containers are a relatively new feature that Firefox implemented early in the Mozilla browser. It allows users to run sites and services in containers to separate them from the rest of their browsing sessions and data.

Google Container

The Google Container supports the main google.com address, as well as country domains, blog post domains, and some other Google properties such as YouTube, Blogger, or blog.google. The extension doesn't support all Google-owned domains, but it does support everything running on google.com as well as some other properties. So, most of Google's content is contained in the extension.

Google Container works automatically. Whenever a URL for a supported Google domain is entered or a link to a URL is clicked, the website is opened in a Google Container to isolate it from other browsing sessions.

After installing the extension, Google Search, YouTube, and most other Google properties and services work as before. There may be some issues though, for example, embedded content like buttons and annotations doesn't work, and if it's not loaded in the container, it may not be possible to use Google Authentication on the site that uses it.
