1. The new version provides an extremely useful feature: allowing the same layer style to be applied to a layer multiple times. First select the Horizontal Type tool in the toolbox to create a type layer.

2. Then click on the appropriate position of the picture to set the input starting point of the text.

3. Then enter a line of text.

4. Click the checkmark icon in the tool options bar to complete the text input.

5. In the Layers panel, double-click the text layer to open the Layer Style settings panel.

6. Next you will add three stroke styles in a row to the text layer. First check the Stroke checkbox on the left to add the first stroke style to the text layer.

7. In the Size input box on the right, enter 5 as the stroke width.

8. Click the plus icon to the right of the layer to continue adding a stroke style.

9. Now that the text layer has two stroke styles, in the Stroke Width input box, enter 10 as the width of the second stroke style.

10. Click the Fill Type Options arrow to open the Fill Type list.

11. Then select the Gradient option in the list and set the second stroke style to Gradient style.

12. Click the Gradient drop-down arrow to bring up the Gradient Styles panel.

13. In the Gradient Styles panel that pops up, select a gradient style as the fill style for the second stroke.

14. Since the second stroke is on top of the first, the first stroke is occluded. You can adjust the hierarchical order of styles by dragging styles in the styles list.

15. Continue to click the plus icon to the right of the stroke to add a third stroke style.

16. Click the Fill Type Options arrow to open the Fill Type list.

17. Then select the Pattern option in the list and set the third stroke style to Pattern style.

18. Click the Gradient drop-down arrow to bring up the Pattern Styles panel.

19. Then choose a pattern style as the fill style for the third stroke and watch the layer style change.

20. Click the OK button to complete the layer style settings.

21. The three stroke styles are applied to the current text layer in sequence. Use the shortcut keys on the keyboard to save the final result and end this lesson.
