High-resolution images in Microsoft's planetary cloud computing planet platform are connected to Google Earth Engine (GEE) through API

Planet Platform

Planet Platform is a fully automated cloud-based imagery and analysis platform that provides access to comprehensive daily datasets captured by PlanetScope and SkySat constellations. Planet Platform downloads, processes and manages more than 15TB of data per day. This unique satellite dataset lives online, making it easy for customers to access and download through web-based tools and a user-friendly API and GUI. I recently received an official email about planet: the main content is the new flagship product, which is conducive to the acquisition of high-quality images. Although I did not attend the meeting in time, I still watched the video after the meeting.

Two ultra-high resolution imaging products, 3.7m and 0.5m data

Hi xingguang,

In case you missed our recent announcement, next-generation PlanetScope enhancements are available now. Planet’s flagship Monitoring product now delivers richer, more consistent satellite data with four new spectral bands for analysis: coastal blue, a second green, yellow, and red edge.

Join us on Thursday, March 24th for a webinar to learn how you can access richer spectral insights with high-quality Planet data to improve the accuracy & reliability of your analyses.

It is an introduction to the use of the planet Scope 8-band imagery, that is, the high-resolution imagery launched by the planetary program

automatic image processing

Planet's automated processing pipelines deliver analytics-ready data directly to you in the format of your choice.

  • Orthocorrection eliminates ensemble geometry, pointing errors, and terrain variability distortions
  • Radiometric correction corrects sensor artifacts and converts to sensor radiation
  • Atmospheric top and bottom corrections reduce spectral inconsistencies across time and location

API Search and Download

Programmatically search, download, and transform data using Planet APIs based on REST, JSON, and HTTP standards.

  • Ingest the images and associated GeoJSON metadata you need
  • Build on top of Planet's API and easily integrate images into your tools and applications
  • Get notified when new images appear in the catalog
  • Send images directly to your cloud

Three ways to access the planet platform

The method and specific process of GEE access

Overview

Last update: March 16, 2022

Planet's Google Earth Engine (GEE) delivery integration is a delivery destination supported by Planet's Orders API cloud storage destination .

The integration greatly simplifies the GEE delivery experience by creating a direct connection from Planet's API to GEE so you don't have to download and re-upload images or initiate temporary cloud storage when moving them to your GEE account.

To use the integration, your organization must have a download quota . No download quota? Please contact .

Planet's GEE delivery integration is not subject to any Service Level Agreement (SLA).

place an order

Our order and delivery documentation will guide you through the process of making an order and viewing responses, and details which Planet items and which API operations are supported by the GEE Delivery integration.

Tips for getting started with GEE
