There are two MODIS products here with information on NPP, Net Primary Productivity (net flux of carbon from the atmosphere into green plants per unit time) and GPP (gross primary production; NPP + cellular respiration).
Net primary productivity, so we use GPP to calculate NPP per 8 days using the formula:
NPP 8 = (GPP 8 / GPP y ) x NPP y
Step 1: Import (1) MOD17A3H.006: Annual L4 Global 500m Net Primary Productivity and (2) MYD17A2H.006: 8 Day L4 Global 500m Gross Primary Product into GEE.
