How to add vector graphics logo to PCB
In the final stage of drawing the PCB, producers often hope to add a logo that can represent their own style and characteristics on the PCB. This is just as important as the engraving of a calligrapher, the signature of a painter, and the watermark on photos taken by astronomers. So, how to add a cool logo on the PCB, let us learn together!
There are many ways to add a logo, here is one that I think is better:
Use the font editing software Fontcreator to turn the logo graphic into a vector font and install it on the computer, and then add the string to the required layer on the pcb. You can add the logo to the pcb by changing the content and font properties of the string to the created font. This method adds vector graphics, which can zoom in and out and move the position freely.
Specific steps
1. Find the logo image you want to add:
2. Use Draw or PS to turn it into a monochrome bitmap:
monochrome bitmap: a
monochrome bitmap is a digital image that only displays a single color (usually black) . This is a specific file format called bitmap (BMP). Each pixel can represent up to 2 colors. It only needs to use a binary bit of length 1 to represent it. It is usually used to create simple graphics.
- Use drawing operations:
①Cut into the required graphics:
②Save as a monochrome bitmap:
- Operation with ps:
① When operating with ps, first change the image mode to grayscale. Grayscale is the intermediate transition stage of the image conversion to bitmap.
②In the conversion of grayscale mode to bitmap mode:
③Use method to select 50% threshold
④Save as a .bmp file, so that the picture can be used:
3. After the monochrome bitmap is made, make the picture as a font.
①Open the fontcreator software, create a new project, and name it demo: ②Double
-click the font you want to replace with the desired icon, such as 0, and the following window will appear.
③Delete 0, drag the logo bitmap just generated here, and adjust the picture size to a proper size.
Note: The top edge of the picture should not exceed WinAscent, the bottom edge should not exceed WinDescent, the left edge should not exceed 0, and the right edge should not exceed 1500.
④ After adjusting the size, close the window, the original 0 is replaced with the required logo, and when this font is used in the future, 0 represents the logo.
⑤The output font is Desktop Font (ttf/otf) ⑥Save
to a custom location: ⑦Double
-click the file to install
4. At this point, you can open the pcb file and add the logo. Add a string to the desired layer, then double-click the string to change the content to 0, the layer to correspond to the layer you want to add, the font to TrueType, and the font to select demo. After confirming, you can see that the logo is placed on the corresponding layer. , You can freely adjust the size and position without distortion.
