For example, some network equipment-centric functions in traditional data centers can be embedded in a cloud computing environment together with a load balancer, or delivered in the form of SaaS cloud services like a secure web gateway or firewall.

  Almost all organizations use cloud computing, and at least 97% of organizations use SaaS. There are fewer and fewer organizations using cloud networks, but with the popularity of cloud-based software-defined WAN, cloud-based wireless LAN management and secure cloud computing access services, this number will rise sharply.

  Cloud computing is the transfer of application hosting to the data center of the cloud computing service provider, rather than the traditional internal or hosted data center. Enterprise customers cannot access or directly control basic hardware services. According to the type of cloud computing service, customers can view and control the different layers above the hardware.   (1) IaaS provides a hypervisor layer on which customers can configure virtual machines, for example, and can monitor from the operating system level.

  (2) PaaS provides access to a certain type of middleware environment, in which applications can be deployed, and the behavior of the code and environment can be monitored, but the underlying layers cannot be monitored.

  (3) SaaS provides access to running applications, and customers can only monitor their own pieces of the application.
