1. Preparation before participating in the competition
The National College Student Computer Design Competition is the beginning of the year in April and May to start the selection of school competitions and provincial competitions, and after heavy selection, the finals of the national competition will be held in July and August. My classmates and I officially started preparing for the winter vacation. We remembered that our teacher found the tasks assigned to us by classmates in our laboratory. There were a total of three national competitions, and I was in charge of the computer design competition. . During the winter vacation, I contacted my classmate to prepare for the competition, mainly the following parts:
1. Determine the topic and direction of the competition.
2. Find relevant information about the competitions over the years, find the competition requirements and outstanding works.
3. Write the first draft based on the plan submitted in the competition requirements.
4. Send the first draft to all members, and everyone adds their own ideas according to their own understanding.
2. Preliminary selection for school competition
Because we made sufficient preparations for the holidays, the school competition passed very smoothly in my impression. The work of our school competition newspaper is "Autonomous obstacle avoidance voice explanation robot based on ros system".
The general direction is artificial intelligence, and the smaller direction is smart cities and medical health. It took a long time for us to finalize it, and it was finally determined because my classmates and I were already working on this project in the first semester of our college degree, and we also participated in the "Ninth China Education Robotics Competition" for training and After learning, we made a real robot after coming back, which can perform basic tasks, we only need to add specific functional modules on this basis. Of course, it is precisely because the incident done by this robot exceeds the time of the computer competition, the judges teacher also pointed out this problem in the defense of the national competition. Therefore, the work of the computer design competition is best to be designed this year.
Although the robot we designed started at the beginning of the big day, because everything from the software to the hardware needs to be rebuilt by ourselves, the time for our completion of the work happened to be during the winter vacation at the beginning of the year. It is precisely because we made the real thing that the competition has a great advantage. Because of the epidemic, we can't go back to school, so we trouble the teacher. We sent us the relevant videos and materials of the car, and we made the final sorting. The school competition passed easily.

Three, provincial competition awards
When the school competition is over, we have two days to fine-tune the uploaded work specification, detailed design plan, source code, and defense PPT. Our leading teacher, Mr. Han, has given us a lot of help. The teacher has seen us After submitting the materials, we pointed out our shortcomings, and we made the following modifications:
1. The topic is not novel, and the terminology is easy to make the judges' teacher plan.
2. The design part of the planning project is too detailed, and it is necessary to grasp the key points to briefly present the work.
3. Upload videos need to be more concise and clear.
The teacher said that there are many teams participating, and the judges and teachers cannot have time to carefully look at your design works. If it is a long discussion and the teacher can't grasp the key points, it is easy to adjust the work.
Next, with the help of the teacher, we carefully revised and perfected our work. The submission of works for this provincial competition is at the same time as the national competition. I submitted my works carefully on the official website as required. Because of the epidemic, I did not respond to the provincial competition. I directly gave the results according to the submitted video and work description. With our efforts, I won the provincial first-class general. Good grades.

Fourth, the national game experience
When we won the first prize in the provincial competition, we successfully won the quota for the national competition. Because this year’s epidemic affected the national competition, we were not able to be there. We adopted the form of online defense. The national competition was divided into two stages. The first At the stage, the judges and teachers will conduct a preliminary screening, and the selected works will go to the second stage, and online defense will be conducted through the Tencent conference. After an anxious wait, we were finally shortlisted, and we were only one step away from victory. At the final stage, there was nothing to modify in the work. The key was the explanation of the defense. The defense was limited to 8 minutes. With the help of my classmates and teachers, I wrote many versions of speeches and tested them in advance.
On August 17th, I conducted an online defense. I pre-set a lot of questions that the teacher may ask. I expect the teacher may ask me about the working principle of the robot. In order to briefly explain that it does not take too long, I We also made a PPT for this purpose to show the robot we designed. Although the teacher did not ask at the end, I learned a lot from this summary.
Recall the question asked by the teacher:
1. What are the actual application scenarios and functions of the work?
2. What is the specific division of labor for your team members?
3. How original is your work?
4. What is the code reuse rate of your robot, and how many lines of code you write based on the line?
Then I asked about the start time of our work and the final completion time.
I gave my answer to the teacher’s question. In this regard, I think the judges’ teacher’s real concern is not the specific principles of your design work, but the complex theories used. What the judges’ teacher really cares about is the practicality of your work. And how much originality is, and how much collaboration among your team members to accomplish one thing.
In the end, it took too long to create our work, but there is no way. Our work has been created from scratch, and the workload from hardware to software is very large. If it is within the specified time of the competition, it should not be finished, because during the competition The work done was limited, and only won the third prize/(ㄒoㄒ)/~~

Looking back on the journey of participating in this computer design competition, overall it was relatively smooth, because our preparations at each stage were relatively adequate and were within the expected controllable range.
