The open source four-axis UAV system has entered a new stage!

For open-source drones, the stability of the drone frame has troubled many people, especially since there were no good motors and ESCs in the past few years, it is very difficult to start with the frame and open-source drones. The Ardupilot/Pixhawk UAV system has been criticized for its poor stability and various bombers. With the development of the UAV industry, things have turned for the better, and a batch of stable and reliable UAV accessories products have gradually appeared on the market.

Amu Labs & Kodiwei Power
Amu Labs and Kodiwei Power jointly cooperated to launch an educational version of a long-duration drone. After that, it was divided into a basic model and an onboard computer model adapted to the Prometheus project. The testing and adaptation work is in full swing and is expected to be available in the next few weeks. The basic models can already be ordered in our official Taobao stores, JD stores, or by contract.

The drone in the video includes: TX2 airborne computer system (about 350g), three-axis USB 10x zoom pod system (about 400g), high-power WIFI data transmission module (50g). The total weight of the drone with batteries is 2.95KG (take-off weight). In the video, the flight duration of the drone's entire test link is about 40 minutes to 45 minutes. With a load of 850G, such excellent endurance performance marks a new level of the drone industry in the open source field.

Kodiwei has accumulated many years of research and development, using FOC sine wave ESC, semi-sealed waterproof, dust motor. In particular, the FOC sine wave ESC has greatly improved power efficiency and longer battery life than ordinary square wave ESCs (maximum 75min/under no-load 2.1KG takeoff weight). The fuselage is made of aviation aluminum and carbon fiber sheets, which are both light and strong.

Amu Labs has accumulated many years of experience in small drones onboard computers. Its Prometheus project has gradually become a well-known open source project in the field of unmanned systems, and is deeply involved in the education industry of unmanned systems.

The two cooperate with each other, one in the direction of the drone body and the other in the direction of the airborne computer environment perception, and together they have launched a development platform for the industry to develop an intelligent flying drone.

We believe that the field of drones will develop in the direction of specialized division of labor. Analogous to the automobile industry a hundred years ago and the automobile industry now, the automobile industry now has a clear specialization and division of labor. There are specialized engines, glass, and gearboxes. The current UAV field has gradually shown this trend compared with previous years. In the past few years, it was difficult for manufacturers to make complete drones. There were no stable and reliable ESCs, motors, racks, etc. on the market. There are already many manufacturers on the market that can provide relatively stable and reliable accessory equipment. Our cooperation with Kodiwei Power is also based on this. They provide a set of open source software for the drone body itself. Our Amu Lab adapts complex environment perception algorithms and provides some airborne equipment to jointly provide this drone field. Provide better and more reliable products.

Our Amu Lab is also actively cooperating with various manufacturers to help DJI promote their SDK and record related courses, adapt to domestic Huawei's Ascend processor, and so on. We also hope to cooperate with more manufacturers and individuals to jointly launch products and courses.
