These 5 drugs are banned in foreign countries, but they are regarded as standing drugs in China!

As the saying goes, "Which one can eat grains without disease?"

In normal life

Who hasn’t had a headache, brain fever, cold and fever, inadequacy, and indigestion?

Who doesn't have some of these common medicines at home

But what you don't know is

Some drugs are banned in Hong Kong and abroad

Has even been banned for many years

But the Mainland regards them as standing medicine!

Compound licorice tablets-prohibited in foreign countries

As early as 2014, it was reported that a Chinese who brought Chinese medicine to the United States was regarded as holding contraband and sentenced to five years from entering the country. The reason is that "compound licorice tablets" are prohibited.

In our general impression, compound licorice tablets are commonly used antitussive drugs, but in fact, the main antitussive effect in the ingredient list is opioid powder (ie opium), which is addictive, and continuous use can form drug dependence.

In fact, such anesthetic ingredients are listed as controlled substances internationally. Even in China, compound licorice tablets were designated as prescription drugs that can only be purchased by prescription in 2005, and the Food and Drug Administration issued notices in 2009 and 2013 respectively. It is required to strengthen the management of the purchase and sale of special drugs containing codeine compound oral solution, compound licorice tablets, etc., and a large number of purchasers need to be reported.

Opioids are addictive. If it's just a common cold and cough, there is no need to use "opioid powder" to suppress cough!

Not long ago, the National Center for Drug Evaluation also publicly solicited opinions on the "requirements for the revision of the instructions for cold medicines containing codeine."

Experts believe that such opioid cold medicines are more risky for people under 18 years of age.

Look at glycyrrhizic acid again. Glycyrrhizic acid has the risk of causing symptoms such as elevated blood pressure, hypokalemia, edema, etc. It is not a safe enough drug especially for patients with existing hypertension.

Ribavirin-has been banned abroad

Ribavirin is also known as ribavirin. Just listening to this name makes many people think that it can resist viruses, or use it to defeat pathogens.

But in fact, this is not the case. This drug has been clinically confirmed to cause fetal malformations . In China, although it is a prescription drug, many medical institutions use it to treat colds for adults and children, but the truth is that it does not cure colds!

Ribavirin actually has a very small scope of application:

1. It can be combined with interferon to treat adult hepatitis C;

2. In terms of respiratory infections, it is only recommended for nebulization to treat severe respiratory syncytial virus infections in immunosuppressed patients.

Moreover, the common cold is often caused by rhinovirus, coronavirus, and parainfluenza virus infections. The common cold caused by respiratory syncytial virus is very rare.

In other words, ribavirin cannot be used to treat the common cold at all! Not to mention that the medicine has no effect, the side effects of ribavirin should not be ignored.

In the United States, ribavirin is classified as X grade in the FDA's pregnancy drug classification and is forbidden for pregnant women. In all animal experiments, there are sufficient data to show that it has obvious teratogenic effects and/or embryonic effects.

The FDA has a serious warning against ribavirin: the drug is teratogenic to the fetus! Even exposure to a therapeutic dose as low as 1% will have a significant possibility of causing fetal malformations.

In 2006, the CFDA’s Adverse Drug Reaction Information Bulletin had already notified the safety of ribavirin.

Analgin-the United States has been banned for 40 years

Many people have taken the miraculous fever-reducing medicine "Analgin", and now many people have a headache and brain fever, and they still take it.

The main ingredients of "Analgin" are "aminopyrine and sodium sulfite". This antipyretic has caused serious adverse reactions and deaths both at home and abroad.

According to the Beijing News a few days ago, data showed that from 1922 to 1934, aminopyrine was popular in Europe and the United States as a new type of antipyretic and analgesic drug, and was used by people to reduce fever and pain. However, it has been discovered that patients taking this drug will have a variety of side effects, such as reducing the number of white blood cells in the peripheral blood, leading to a decline in immunity, and triggering various infections. In 1934, 1981 people died of the disease in the United States alone, and more than 200 people died in Europe.

And "Analgin" is a compound that combines aminopyrine and sodium sulfite, which has similar effects.

In 1977, the U.S. FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) officially banned Analgin and withdrew the drug from the U.S. market. The clinical application of multiple dosage forms was stopped. Subsequently, about 30 countries including Japan, Australia, and Iran have banned or restricted the use of Analgin.

As early as 2002, the National Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center of my country collected data on suspicious adverse drug reactions caused by Analgin:

11 cases of anaphylactic shock, of which 7 died;

There were 16 cases of blood system reaction, of which 1 case died;

31 cases of skin and adnexal reactions, 4 of which died;

17 cases of urinary system reaction, 5 of them died;

9 cases of digestive system reaction, of which 1 case died;

There were also 8 cases of severe reactions such as respiratory arrest and incontinence, and 1 case died.

Pidotimod-still in the experimental stage of mice abroad

In January 2018, Ji Lianmei, a pharmacist at Beijing United Family Hospital and a master of pharmacy from Peking Union Medical College of China, issued an article "Pidomod, which sells 4 billion in a year, please spare the Chinese children! ", pushed Pidomod to the cusp of the storm.

The "magic drug" pidotimod is an immune booster. Ji Lianmei found that the "magic drug" pidotimod is the favorite of pediatricians, ENT and dermatologists. The children who came out of the three departments after seeing the disease, almost everyone has pidotimod on the medicine list. De's figure. One box for cold prevention, one box for fever and cough, one box for rhinitis and tonsillitis, one box for eczema and urticaria..."

Statistics show that in 2016, Pidotimod's sales in domestic grade hospitals reached 3.5 billion, and sales in retail pharmacies were 427 million.

Such a "best-selling pediatric drug" lacks high-quality and reliable clinical research, and the clinical efficacy and safety are not clear. In foreign medical clinical trials, it is still in the "white mouse" stage, and the efficacy is still unclear.

On March 9, 2018, the State Food and Drug Administration issued the "Announcement on Revising the Instructions for Pidotimod Preparations (2018 No. 30)". Clearly remind in the instructions: children under 3 years of age are prohibited!
