Use the windows system to construct the network in order to share resources with users on the network.

The network architecture of windows can be roughly divided into a workgroup architecture, a domain architecture and a hybrid architecture of the former two.

1. The working group structure is a distributed management model, suitable for small networks.
2. The domain architecture is a centralized management model, suitable for medium and large networks.

(1) A working group is composed of a group of computers connected together through a network. They can share files, printers and other resources in the computer for network users to access.

The workgroup network is also known as a peer-to-peer network. Each computer on the network has an equal status. Their resources and management are scattered on each computer. Their characteristics are:

(1) Every windows computer has a local security account database called Security Accounts Manager database (SAM). If a user wants to access the resources in each computer, the system administrator must create a user account in the SAM database of each computer. For example, if user 1 wants to access the resources in each computer, he must create user 1 accounts in the SAM database of each computer and set the permissions of these accounts. The account and authority management of this structure is more troublesome. If a user wants to change his password, it may be necessary to change all the user's passwords on each computer.
(2) The workgroup does not require server-level computers such as Windows Server 2012, that is, even if there are only windows8, windows7 and other client-level computers, a workgroup-based network can be set up.

(2) The domain is also composed of a group of computers connected together through a network. Unlike the workgroup architecture, all computers in the domain share a centralized directory database (Directory Database), which contains the accounts of all users in the entire domain. data. The component that provides the Directory Service in the Windows Server 2012 domain is Active Directory Domain Service (ADDS), which is responsible for the addition, deletion, modification and query of the directory database.
In a domain-based network, this directory database is stored in a domain controller (Domain Controller), and only server-level computers can play the role of domain control.
