Four things leaders need to do

Every employee is a seed, and every seed can grow into a towering tree. The premise is that you must irrigate carefully, give them the environment they need, enough sunlight and good water. In the workplace, leaders can stimulate the potential of employees in four ways: training, communication, challenge and guidance.

1. Training

Every employee brings some experience and knowledge to the company. A good leader knows how to connect the existing knowledge of these employees to the company's strategy. You have to communicate and discuss with your employees to see what they need to do now and in the future, and where they need to receive more training.

Before employees attend courses, meetings or seminars, you must sit down with employees to discuss learning goals and results. This will increase the enthusiasm of employees in the classroom and show support for employee development. After the course, when the employees’ memory is still fresh, the leader will meet with the employees again to discuss the next implementation plan. This will help transform learning knowledge into applications and ideas into practical actions.

2. Docking

You must help employees connect with different resources. Every department has resources, and every job has its own resources. You must let employees understand how the departments work, how they are related to each other, what is the meaning of each related job, and what kind of connections and influences there are between different jobs.

A good leader understands the goals and strategies of the entire company and can clearly communicate information to employees.

3. Challenge

For a long time, people believed that only external motivation could motivate employees. External motivations include praising them in public and giving them more money or medals. Many people think this is enough.

But recent research shows that internal motivation is equally important. In Daniel Pinker's book Motivation, he pointed out three important intrinsic motivations: mastery, autonomy, and goal. Mastery refers to the opportunity to improve one's skills. This challenge is a good motivation for improving skills. When encountering difficulties and challenges, employees will force themselves to find solutions.

4. Guidelines

In the face of difficulties, a good leader can help you get out of difficulties, help you regain self-confidence, and maintain confidence in the most difficult times. A leader is a guide or coach. He will set the right challenges, help you find options to achieve your goals, and lead you to success.
