How do we achieve self-improvement after work

Recently I talked to my friends about the topic of work and self-improvement. In this regard, many books and writings have discussed a lot more. Here I also briefly talk about some of my thinking and understanding.

To achieve self-improvement, I divided him into two major parts: "working time" and "non-working time".

operating hours

Working time occupies most of our time schedule, and if we win the work time promotion, we have succeeded more than half. So what should we do?

Psychology mentioned a theory to express the level of things you want to learn. They are "comfort zone", "learning zone", and "panic zone".

Among them, when we are in the "learning zone" is the most ideal and effective. In this area, we will neither feel too relaxed and lax, nor will we feel too difficult to panic, and appropriately accept challenging things. After time, the "learning zone" will gradually become the "comfort zone", and the "panic zone" will become the "learning zone" so that you do not understand the process of being proficient.

It can be seen from the above that if we want to further improve ourselves in our work, we need to continue to challenge tasks with a certain degree of difficulty, and properly "push our feet" instead of dealing with tasks that are not difficult every time.

We need to improve ourselves in every problem solving process.

Those who work step by step, trying to improve themselves through work is certainly not enough. Because the tasks at work are not destined to be effective exercises, some people are destined to stay in place after working for many years. This is particularly obvious in terms of technical performance.

So to put it simply: In order to improve ourselves during working hours, we need to consciously handle tasks that pose a certain challenge to ourselves .

Non-working time

From the above, we know that in order to gain self-improvement, we need to "deliberate practice" during the study period. If we still can't achieve more perfect "effective practice" at work, then we need to find some Personal project information for further practice and learning, and perfect your own knowledge system.

If you want to practice self-improvement during non-working hours, I think you need to do: get high-quality content (service), take the initiative to share and learn from teaching .

I have mentioned the concept that paying is the best. Only by paying can we enjoy the best service and the best knowledge experience.

In the technology development category, I know excellent websites such as lynda, Coursera, etc., they have a variety of programming teaching, from which you can learn a lot of development skills and development knowledge. The non-development category can be combined with professional situation subscriptions or other paid columns such as Himalayas, so that some professional knowledge can be systematically increased, not only to increase knowledge, but also to broaden the scope of knowledge.

With high-quality service and a good learning experience, you will be more focused and valued.

As I mentioned in " Today, I made a sharing in the team ", teaching is the best way to learn. If you want to learn more efficiently, you can try to actively share and teach others how to do it. Before you teach others how to do it, you yourself will gain a deep understanding of this knowledge and technology, and you will be truly improved. This is what I call active sharing and teaching as learning.

As a programmer, I think the best habit for me to develop is to think about how to reuse this function every day? How can that class be more extensible? There is a pit in that place. What do you want to record?

This process is actually a kind of rehearsal. I think we need to rehearse and reflect on our work at all times, so that every time we finish our work, we have a summary. Those who do well, those who do not well, how can Do better, and strive to do the same thing next time, the efficiency of the work is improved.

So I think to achieve self-improvement requires: deliberate practice, teaching as learning, and always reviewing.
