They announced plans for the next generation storage engine-InfluxDB I0x. InfluxDB I0x is a powerful new storage engine designed to perform increasing query workloads over time. InfluxDB I0x is developed based on the Rust language and uses Apache Arrow and columnar data structures.
In terms of upgrading, for existing InfluxDB users, 2.0 can be seamlessly upgraded from version 1.x, which can be completed by downloading InfluxDB 2.0 and running a single command to transfer data.
