Project thinking 1-the difference between different customer projects

I have been in project management for more than a year, and I have gradually gained my own understanding of project management and some of my own experience. Let's briefly share the difference between project and project today. At present, there are two types of customers that I have contacted. One type of customers is the education system: mainly schools, colleges, libraries, and other institutions; the other type of customers are manufacturing companies. There is a clear difference between the two types of customers in project operation. Mainly analyze from the following aspects:

1. Customer focus is different
Project customers of the education system are very interested in business projects (such as student management systems, educational administration systems, etc.) and resource projects (databases, databases, etc.), and they tend to be more interested in the latter than the former; while enterprises Most of the project customers are concentrated in the business system and have a wide range of interests. They may have the idea of deriving smart cloud hardware from a small after-sales system, but the demand for data-based projects is very small.

Two, the project model is different
The education system is a typical financial payment model, and the follow-up cycle for most projects will be relatively long. If everything goes well for the project, it usually takes one year (fiscal calculation cycle) that the project funds can be approved before the project has a chance to be implemented. Moreover, as the management of scientific research funds in universities is standardized and standardized, the education industry projects will become more and more periodic If there is no opportunity in that year, it may be necessary to continue to wait patiently for a year to cultivate the next batch of market opportunities.
The business sector (and some public institutions) has obvious demand-promoting effects, and the project funding model is also obviously different. The budget disposal will be relatively flexible and there is no strict fiscal year limit. As long as the needs are matched, project construction can effectively promote production, and the advancement of enterprise projects will be much faster than the education industry.

3. Project implementation is also different
The difference in project implementation is mainly reflected in the degree of customization. Due to the relatively standardized business of the education system, there is a high probability that it will remain unchanged. Once this type of project forms a mature product, the scope of customization changes will be relatively small, such as the student management system. The business logic of most systems may be the same, but the external manifestations are different. The person in charge of the docking of Party A may not understand the project business he is responsible for, but is only the person in charge of administration. Party B will have more reasonable and flexible space.
For the same business system, the variables of the enterprise system will be even greater, because the enterprise has to face more flexible business requirements, have a more rigorous business processing system, does not allow the outward adjustment of processes or logic, and needs to fully comply with the enterprise Therefore, even with a mature ERP system, it may be difficult to plug and play. In order to do a good job of the system, the project leader of Party A is not only responsible for the project administration, but also needs to have strong business practice and insight capabilities, clear demand expression and abstraction capabilities, in order to make the project successful. It is worth noting that for corporate public service systems (such as those involving public social services such as taxation), project changes will also be smaller, because taxation is national and it is a system.

The above is a personal comparison of the two fields, I hope I can correct it!
