The three finalists of the 3rd Bitcoin SV Programming Marathon will compete for a prize of 100,000 USD

Event time: From June 23, 2020
Event organizer: Bitcoin Association
Event partners: nChain, CoinGeek

The Bitcoin Association, a global industry organization dedicated to advancing the Bitcoin SV blockchain business, today announced the three finalists of the 3rd Bitcoin SV Programming Marathon. They will compete for a BSV prize worth $100,000. This is a further announcement by the Bitcoin Association following the list of 10 semi-finalists (selected by the preliminary review team from all submitted projects) yesterday.

The Bitcoin SV programming marathon is one of the important activities in the Bitcoin Association's developer teaching and training program. It is a global programming competition designed to encourage developers to understand the technical power of the original Bitcoin protocol and conduct real-time innovation. The event is organized by the Bitcoin Association and sponsored by CoinGeek, while the world's leading blockchain research and development company nChain is responsible for operation and management. Participants of the Bitcoin SV programming marathon should use the unique features of the Bitcoin SV blockchain to develop an application or a service within a given subject area and a prescribed time period.

The theme of the third Bitcoin SV programming marathon is "Connect the world with the same global blockchain". A notable feature of the Bitcoin SV blockchain is that it can perform unlimited expansion, achieve greater data capacity, and send massive transactions worldwide at a very low cost. With the blessing of these capabilities, the single digital currency (BSV) born for micropayments has emerged, thus breaking the historical data island of the industry and enhancing the interoperability of technology in an unprecedented way. Participants are faced with challenges. They must make full use of these capabilities in their projects and use the Bitcoin SV blockchain to improve efficiency and create new interconnection opportunities.

This is the most competitive Bitcoin SV programming marathon so far. During the 8-week programming phase, a total of 418 people from 75 countries participated in the activity, of which 42 completed projects were submitted for consideration.

The three finalists will be invited to showcase their projects on the upcoming CoinGeek conference live broadcast (2020) from September 30th to October 2nd. The final round of the Bitcoin SV programming marathon will be held on the first day of the conference (September 30), and the winner will be announced on the third day (October 2). The finalists will share a BSV prize worth $100,000-$50,000 for the first place, $30,000 for the second place, and $20,000 for the third place.

The final ranking of the finalists will be determined by the final round of judging and the online participants of the CoinGeek conference live broadcast (participating through AR technology).

The finalists of the 3rd Bitcoin SV Programming Marathon are:

Kyrt

Kyrt integrated Bitcoin microtransactions with subscription activities on Zapier. Zapier can easily integrate workflow among more than 2000 applications and is the leading platform in this field. Zapier is very powerful, and its unlimited potential is enhanced by integrating micropayments in various application interactions.

RepZip

On-chain identity is a hotly discussed topic on Bitcoin SV, and it is also a key missing part of the infrastructure. Not only can RepZip solve this problem, but it also integrates Paymail and the existing Bitcoin data infrastructure to meet the needs of various practical examples. Identity is a powerful message and the core link between the digital world and the real world. When the solution integrates third-party authentication, it will become the core and hub of Bitcoin's daily interaction.

STOTASK

STOTASK is a recent entrant to the "gig economy", which allows data set owners to use others' free time to manually interpret label data. This is the missing link between manual classification and machine learning. Classification tasks that are easy for humans but difficult for machines can be turned into machine learning tasks through initial human input. Bitcoin SV will serve as the payment channel for STOTASK, enabling the payment of work remuneration to be carried out in a very low amount. Combining it with the future Metanet data structure will bring huge potential.

Speaking of the finals, nChain Chief Technology Officer Steve Shadders said:

"With each Bitcoin SV programming marathon, we can see that the quality and creativity of the entries continue to improve. This time, as the programming phase of the competition has been extended, it is obvious that these extra time has been used by the participants. It is used to truly transform ideas into high-quality, well-thought-out projects. I am very excited to see the three finalists each show their projects on the CoinGeek conference live broadcast, but it is definitely not easy to decide a champion !"

Jimmy Nguyen, the founding chairman of the Bitcoin Association, also commented on today's announcement:

"The entry standard for the 3rd Bitcoin SV Programming Marathon has been raised once again, which reflects the maturity of the Bitcoin SV ecosystem. The diversity of the entries that impressed me the most, whether it is enterprise or consumer applications, I have unique insights into our theme "Connecting the world with the same global blockchain." But what all projects have in common is that they all use the unique capabilities of the Bitcoin SV blockchain. I want to tell all 400 participants in the competition Many players expressed their gratitude. Although we will select a champion in a few weeks, all the contestants are building on BSV, so they are all winners."

The Bitcoin Association takes the promotion of the commercial development of Bitcoin SV as the basic principle and works with ecological participants to promote the future of Bitcoin technology. The association has launched a number of projects to support the BSV developer community, with the goal of cultivating a large number of developers and realizing the amazing commercial potential of the BSV blockchain.
