When the traditional warehouse meets the professional WMS system

In traditional warehouses, the most troublesome problem for warehouse managers is inventory inaccuracy. On the one hand, purchase and marketing strategies will be biased; on the other hand, the accuracy of other information in the warehouse will also be greatly reduced. However, after encountering a professional WMS system , the accuracy of warehouse inventory can be increased to 99.9%, achieving an ideal management state of consistent goods, accounts and cards. So, how does the WMS system do it? Mainly rely on the following three points.

1. Using radio frequency identification technology

According to the survey, a large part of inaccurate inventory is caused by incorrect information entered by employees. The introduction of radio frequency identification technology has changed the way the warehouse collects information. It can be quickly identified from a long distance, input a large amount of information, and transmitted to the WMS system in real time via the wireless network. The system will automatically generate inventory lists and inventory statistics for users to query and download.

2. Fine management of cargo location

The WMS system supports the "one person, one product" storage model. Paste the radio frequency identification electronic label to each storage location in the warehouse, record the specific location, the use status and the information of the stored goods, and establish the storage location information database. Whenever loading and unloading goods is required, employees can use the handheld terminal to scan the barcode of the goods and the barcode of the cargo location, complete the binding and unbinding of the information, and synchronize the data in the WMS system with the actual data.

3. Scientific inventory plan

In order to maintain the accuracy of inventory data, post-maintenance work is essential. Cycle count, touch count, instruction count, etc. It is one of the secrets to maintaining inventory accuracy. The warehouse supervisor can choose different inventory methods in the WMS system according to the actual situation. After counting, the system will generate a counting list, compare it with the inventory list, and finally generate a counting profit and loss statement. The supervisor finds out the problems in the inventory management by calculating the difference, corrects, optimizes and improves in time, and continuously improves the accuracy of the warehouse inventory, forming a virtuous circle.
