So why do you need different line marks? Wouldn't it be better to use the curve marking of the PLOT function that comes with matlab?

You get a bold curve. This kind of graph is definitely useless. Usually the number of marking points should be less than 10, otherwise it will cause too dense to affect the look and feel. Some people will choose to sacrifice the smoothness of the curve. The way is to reduce the sampling rate of the curve, and then draw the graph.
