On September 10, at the 2020 Tencent Global Digital Ecology Conference, Tencent Research Institute and Tencent Cloud released the "Digital China Index Report (2020)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report").

The report released this time shows that the Digital China Index continues to maintain rapid growth in 2019. Among them, the 11 major urban agglomerations represented by the Pearl River Delta are the backbone of my country's digitalization process. In addition, the amount of cloud usage across the country has also achieved a growth of 118%. The amount of cloud usage in each month of the first half of the year was significantly higher than the same period last year, and the growth rate of traditional industries was particularly obvious.

New infrastructure and the epidemic have doubled the breakthrough of the industrial Internet, and the growth rate of cloud usage has more than doubled

The report shows that under the guidance of the "new infrastructure" wave, cloud computing is the base of the new infrastructure. In 2019, the total cloud usage across the country reached 1,012 points, achieving a rapid growth of 118%.

Among them, from an industry perspective, the cloud industries in each city are diverse, and among the top ten industries with growth rates, traditional industries occupy 8 seats, such as radio and television, cultural tourism and automobiles are in the initial stage of cloud use, and the "cloud use" is significant The growth rate exceeded 400%. It is not difficult to see that digital technology is going deep into the physical field, helping the industry to achieve transformation and upgrading.

From a regional perspective, Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangdong occupy high positions, while the Northeast region is also gaining momentum. Old industrial bases such as Jilin and Heilongjiang are ushering in "digital changes." Jilin actively promotes the development of "digital Jilin". Heilongjiang Province also performed well during the epidemic, and launched a "health code" with the most service functions.

The report also found that cloud usage in each month of the first half of 2020 was significantly higher than the same period last year. Among them, cloud usage in February increased by more than 90%, much higher than other months in the first half. Reflecting that cloudification and digitization are rigid needs during the epidemic, the demand for digital applications such as "health codes", remote office, and online education has surged, greatly increasing the use of cloud resources.

Among them, the Tencent Health Code has now covered 900 million people, with 15 billion person-times of the code, and 44 billion visits, which provides accurate and reliable big data support for the needs of enterprises to resume work and resume production.

In terms of telecommuting, in order to ensure the resumption of work, from January 29 to February 6, the Tencent meeting has been expanding resources every day. The average daily expansion of cloud hosts is close to 15,000, and the total expansion of more than 100,000 clouds in 8 days The host computer involves a total of over one million cores of computing resources.

Under the double overweight of new infrastructure and the epidemic, cloud volume for education, automobiles, medical care, e-commerce, and cultural tourism led the growth, and the entire industry was actively moving to the cloud. The accelerated integration of the Internet and industry has not only provided effective support for the resumption of work and school, but also played an important role in economic reconnection and recovery.

The digital index of 11 major urban agglomerations accounted for more than 70%, and the urban agglomeration became a new growth driver

In 2019, the total digital China index growth rate continued to remain at a high level of 73.2%, representing the continuous growth of China's digital level. Among them, the 11 major urban agglomerations accounted for about half of the national cities, but the digital index accounted for more than 70%.

On the whole, the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration driven by dual-core Guangzhou and Shenzhen has the highest degree of digitization, which is much higher than other fraternal urban agglomerations. The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta are also accelerating steadily. The report mainly studies the digital industry, digital culture and digital government affairs of urban agglomerations.

In terms of digital industry, more than half of the urban agglomerations have grown faster than 100%. Among them, the Pearl River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations are the most advanced. It has become an important driving force for economic growth.

In terms of digital culture, the Yangtze River Delta has the largest total amount of urban agglomerations, and has become a key gathering area for the development of digital culture in China. Taking Shanghai as an example, Shanghai is firmly in the first-tier city of e-sports, accelerating the establishment of a global e-sports capital, and driving the growth of related industries such as live broadcasting, transportation, tourism, and the development of urban cultural brands. The 2020 League of Legends Global Finals will be held in Shanghai. The report shows that in 2020, Shanghai's e-sports industry will generate revenues of 3.63 billion yuan in other areas.

In terms of digital government affairs index, the Pearl River Delta takes the lead, taking the case of Guangdong Province in Guangdong as an example. As of June 2020, there have been 62.91 million real-name registered users, achieving 1,226 high-frequency people’s livelihood issues at their fingertips, and 83% of issues running zero .

In addition to the rapid development of the Pearl River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations, it is worth mentioning that thanks to the progressive demonstration and radiating role of urban agglomerations, the digitalization process of fourth- and fifth-tier cities has pressed the "fast forward button." The Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration has been catching up and surpassing significantly in recent years, with a year-on-year growth rate of 79.4%.

Among them, cities such as Mianyang, Nanchong, and Yibin have accelerated their pace of development, with an index growth rate exceeding 100%. Compared with last year's situation where the growth rate was lower than that of the first, second and third tier cities, this year's fourth and fifth tier cities have shown a trend of accelerated development, and the phenomenon of digital stratification is improving day by day.

Urban agglomerations have gradually become a new driving force for economic growth, and speeding up the construction of urban agglomerations is an inevitable choice. Industry insiders also said that the greatest structural potential for future economic growth is the development of metropolitan areas and urban agglomerations, and urban agglomerations will become a "new outlet" for China's economic growth. The construction of urban agglomerations can provide 0.5 to 1 percentage point of growth momentum for economic growth each year, which will not only respond to the impact of the epidemic, but will also provide strong support for medium-speed and high-quality development for a long period of time in the future.

Tang Daosheng: Tencent will invest 10 billion to create 100 SaaS products and solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises

Facing the profound changes in digitalization, Tang Daosheng, senior executive vice president of Tencent and president of the cloud and smart industry business group, also shared his views on digitalization at the conference.

He believes that digital technology is continuing to deepen the reshaping of the industry, and the industrial Internet is expanding horizontally and deepening vertically. During the epidemic, digital technology is like the "ligament" of economic and social operations, mitigating the "hard shock" through "high resilience" and accumulating power for the "V-shaped rebound" of the industry.

Tang Daosheng said that in the process of industrial digital upgrading, efficiency, safety and ecology are the three major keywords.

Efficiency is the key to business operations, and the purpose of the Industrial Internet is to reduce costs and increase efficiency. To be "efficiency" from "digital" is an inevitable choice for industrial reshaping. In business management, digitization can improve the efficiency of manufacturing, matching supply and demand, and maintenance services, ultimately reducing operating costs and enhancing competitiveness; on the other hand, digitization can also improve the efficiency and flexibility of organizational operations. For example, through online office and remote customer service, companies can collaborate and operate more flexibly.

While industrial digitization creates huge value, it also generates massive amounts of data. Ensuring data security is a common proposition for the entire industry. Tang Daosheng pointed out that security is the foundation of industrial digitization. Every unit needs to establish a security system suitable for the digital age. It not only cares about network border defense, but also takes data as the object of protection, bringing security measures to every link of data circulation; shifting protective thinking from passive defense to active Planning; extend the safety goal from compliance to asset protection.

In the wave of industrial digitalization, the digital upgrade of small and medium-sized enterprises still faces many problems in terms of products, technology, and talents. At the main forum of the day, Tang Daosheng also announced that Tencent will invest 10 billion resources to create 100 SaaS products and solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises together with partners; and 100 digital training courses will be created with 100 partners to help small and medium-sized enterprises. Digital transformation and upgrading of enterprises.

The following is the full text of Tang Daosheng’s speech:

Dear guests, partners, media friends:

Hello everyone! This is Tencent Tang Daosheng. I am very happy to gather with you at the "Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference" in the form of a "conference on the cloud".

Over the past six months or so, the epidemic has changed our work and lifestyle, and has also affected the global economy. We have seen that, on the one hand, some offline training institutions closed down because they were unable to resume classes; some retail and catering companies had their sales plummeted because of offline operations; on the other hand, some companies benefited from the digital layout and quickly Out of the predicament.

In this process, digital technology is like the “ligament” of economic and social operations, and it uses “high resilience” to alleviate the “hard shock” and accumulate energy for the “V-shaped rebound” of the industry. During the epidemic, a large number of Lingzhi Group's offline stores were closed. In February, less than 10% of the stores were open. In this case, Lingzhi vigorously promoted sales on WeChat Mini Programs and held more than 200 Mini Program live broadcasts. Monthly sales increased by 13 times year-on-year, creating a single-day sales volume far exceeding that of "Double 11".

The epidemic has eased and offline has restarted, but the physical industry has tasted the "sweetness" and has not stopped the pace of digitalization. With the reopening of offline stores, Lingzhi began to build a store live broadcast matrix, which combined small programs to live broadcast with store activities and celebrity IP to attract traffic to offline stores. In June of this year, through cooperation with celebrities, a single live broadcast has brought a record of 4 million sales to offline stores.

The reshaping of the industry by digital technology is continuing to deepen. Last month, our partner Shell found a house and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Through the digital connection of brokers, the digital presentation of real estate information, and the digital re-engineering of the transaction process, the two-year-old Shell has rebuilt the 20-year-old Lianjia in the “cloud”. Tencent is also very happy to participate in providing key technologies such as big data, cloud computing, audio and video to Shell, helping Shell to complete the real-time information storage and interaction of more than 400,000 brokers across the country, and completing the VR reconstruction of 6.5 million houses in total. , The number of users used is nearly 1.3 billion.

Through the digital practice of many companies such as Shell and Lingzhi, we have seen that the boundary between the digital economy and the real economy is becoming more and more blurred. The digital world is becoming a part of the real world. The production factors, production methods, and production processes of industries are all being Data reshaped. "Digital first" will be the "must choose road" to build the future economy and reshape the development of the industry.

In recent years, Tencent has been working with its ecological partners to explore the road to digital upgrading of the industry. In many fields such as government affairs, retail, finance, transportation, manufacturing, education, and medical care, there have been many grounded practices and achievements. Faced with the characteristics of different industries, how should the digital strategy be implemented? How can digital technology continue to play its value? I want to share my thinking from three aspects.

First of all, efficiency is the key to business operations.

The purpose of the Industrial Internet is to reduce costs and increase efficiency. To be "efficiency" from "digital" is an inevitable choice for industrial reshaping.

Digitization first makes the target measurable, and the measurable can be continuously optimized. The result is to improve the efficiency of manufacturing, supply and demand matching, and maintenance services, which can ultimately reduce operating costs and improve corporate competitiveness. For example, the domestic large aircraft manufacturer "Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China" uses AI vision technology to assist quality inspectors to catch material defects that cannot be detected by the human eye, increasing the defect detection rate to 99%. In the field of automobile manufacturing, some unmanned vehicles can complete a test of 10 million kilometers a day in a digital simulation environment. And the same test, if you rely solely on building prototypes and conducting them on the spot, you need to modify hundreds of cars and take several years to complete. A simulation system that combines digital technologies such as high-precision maps, virtual reality, and game engines not only saves the cost of building prototypes and burning fuel, but also greatly improves test efficiency and avoids the risk of road testing.

Through digital connection tools such as WeChat, QQ, Mini Programs, and Enterprise WeChat, we also help companies reach users more efficiently and improve sales efficiency. We and Uniqlo jointly launched the "Handheld Flagship Store" to connect Uniqlo's online and offline inventory, allowing users to "see and buy"; Yonghui provides customers with home-based services through WeChat mini programs and apps. During the Spring Festival, orders exceeded 450% and sales increased by more than 6 times.

In addition, digitization can also improve the efficiency and flexibility of organizational operations. The Beijing Metro Company has 450 subway stations and 50,000 employees. To ensure the normal operation of the subway, many face-to-face offline meetings and communication were required in the past. During the epidemic, through Tencent meetings remote collaboration, up to 142 large-scale meetings were held in one day for real-time work arrangements and flexible scheduling. In order to create a more offline communication and collaboration experience, we released Tencent's accumulated audio and video technology capabilities for more than 20 years, with a minimum delay of only 80 milliseconds, and fixed-point noise reduction for common meeting noises such as keyboard sounds and coughs.

New Oriental Online has moved the customer service center to the cloud through the cloud phone call center of Tencent. Customer service personnel can log in to the cloud to answer the call at any time through mobile phones or computers. Now, New Oriental's digital floating seats are more than 6 times the fixed seats, which can more flexibly cope with the peak sales of winter and summer vacations.

Secondly, security is the foundation of industrial digitization.

The application of 5G, Internet of Things, AI, cloud computing and other technologies has accelerated the digitization and cloudification of production and service processes. But where there are benefits, bad guys are staring at them. While industrial digitization creates huge value, data security has become a bastion of value protection. In recent years, network security incidents have also been common. For example, the trunk line of Venezuela's national power grid was hijacked by hackers, resulting in a large-scale power outage across the country; a certain video conferencing software lacked security protection, resulting in the leakage of tens of thousands of corporate internal meeting videos. It can be seen that the danger of security risks is expanding, and the threat to the physical world is also growing.

In this context, each unit needs to establish a security system that is suitable for the digital age. It not only cares about network border defense, but also needs to take data as the object of protection, and bring security measures to every link of data circulation; Shift from passive defense to active planning; extend the security goal from compliance to asset protection; to treat security as the "base" of the industrial Internet, we must build a solid foundation.

In June this year, the Canton Fair with a long history was held online for the first time. We combined the security scenarios and business characteristics of the Canton Fair to create a tailor-made protection system, so that the Canton Fair online system has native security attributes from the beginning. Through iterative protection systems and mobile deployment, we helped the Canton Fair to intercept more than There were more than 1.3 million security attacks of various types, and nearly 700 million content reviews were completed, ultimately achieving zero security incidents.

Third, ecological co-construction is the only choice for industrial development.

In the industrial Internet, each industry has its own ecology. Tencent insists on being a "digital assistant", integrating into the ecology of each industry, and combining the capabilities of ecological partners to provide customers with the best products and services.

In the construction of Changsha "Urban Super Brain", we have worked closely with Donghua Software to build a smart city platform. Nearly 40 partners, including Minglue Technology, Hunan Science and Technology, Cathay Pacific New Point, and Oriental Jinxin, also participated and exported their core capabilities in government services, electronic certificates, medical and health, and completed 98 sets of businesses. The integrated access of the system has launched 500 government services, allowing citizens to obtain convenient services in one stop.

In the past two years, together with our partners, we have gradually built an open ecosystem of the industrial Internet from the three dimensions of digital technology supply, solution creation, and enterprise growth. We use the open technology alliance to provide partners with AI, 5G, blockchain, security and other technologies to help everyone consolidate the technical foundation; we use the industry open alliance to build industry solutions with more than 8,000 partners, and form more than 300 A joint solution to help industry customers solve practical problems; we also use ecological investment, industry accelerators, industry training, etc. to help partners grow and enhance digital "internal strength". We are very happy to see that many partners are growing rapidly, such as Huayujia In the past three years of cooperation, they have continued to grow rapidly, and their team size and income have increased dozens of times, becoming our TOP partner in North China.

We have also created and connected the SaaS ecosystem through the "Thousand Sails Plan". We have worked closely with more than 50 leading SaaS vendors such as Weimob, Kingdee, Fada, and Salese to launch multi-scenario solutions covering office collaboration, personnel management, industrial and commercial finance and taxation, production research and development, supply chain management, and precision marketing. Program. Now, more and more SaaS partners have joined the "Thousand Sails Project". Through Qianfan's technology center, industry-based SaaS and general-purpose SaaS are interconnected and integrated to provide enterprises with one-stop SaaS services.

With the horizontal expansion and vertical deepening of the Industrial Internet, many areas of reform have entered the "no man's land", which means that we will enter an era of innovation and creation. We face new challenges and will also meet new opportunities.

In this process, Tencent will strengthen its position as a “digital assistant” in the industry under its mission vision of “user-oriented, technology for good”, and join hands with ecological partners to “team battle” to explore the future in industry reforms.

thank you all!
