Potplayer video recording method

Preparation before recording

Right-click in the PotPlayer playback window, select "Open → Device Settings", switch to the "Collector" tab, and select the microphone device in the "Device" list of "Audio Capture Device". If you don't want to record sound, just ignore it.

Also right-click in the playback window, select "Options", and select "Shortcut Keys" under "Basic" in the pop-up settings window. Then click "Add" in the right window and select the "Any window focus can be controlled" option. Now in the "Shortcut Keys" list, set the shortcut key commands for the operation as needed, I set here Ctrl + Shift + Tab. Then in the command list, choose to expand and select the "video → image capture → record video" command, and finally click "OK" to exit.

Hide PotPlayer interface

Still right-click in the playback window and select the "Open → Collector" command in turn. Customize the size of the recording window in the pop-up recording window. We can either drag the recording window to operate, or directly click the "full screen" button in the upper right corner to record. Next, click the "hide lens 1" command in the upper right corner of the collector to hide the collector window to avoid interference with the recording. Then click the minimize button of the main interface of PotPlayer to hide the main interface of the player, otherwise the picture-in-picture will appear when playing later.

Video encoding settings

Press the Ctrl + Shift + Tab key you just customized , and click "Save Location" in the pop-up window to set the directory where the video file is saved. For the file format, it is recommended that you choose "MPEG4MP4", and also choose "MPEG4" for video encoding. If the user still has the recording information while recording , then the MP3 format can be selected in the audio encoding, and the bit rate can be selected as 128Kbps.

Actual recording operation

After setting, click "Start", PotPlayer starts recording operation. If you think the setting interface is in the way, drag and drop it to the bottom right corner of the screen. Click "Stop" after recording. Now click "Open Archive Folder" and you can see the file you just recorded.
