Zorin OS Upgrader: Most Anticipated Features
Zorin OS 16.3 is the first release to come pre-installed with a new version of the Zorin OS Upgrader, the most requested feature by the community over the years. It allows users to easily upgrade between versions and editions of Zorin OS without reinstalling the operating system. This means you can seamlessly upgrade from Zorin OS 16 Core → Pro or Zorin OS 15 → 16 while keeping your files, apps and settings.
After over a year of development, the Zorin OS Upgrader is now released as a stable feature. This means that all existing installations of Zorin OS 16 and 15 will also get the Zorin OS Upgrader in the latest software update. Just open Zorin Menu → System Tools → Upgrade Zorin OS to start the upgrade.
Improvements to Zorin Connect
The Zorin Connect Android app has been updated with a variety of new features to make the user experience more seamless across devices:
- Run commands on computer from power menu in Android 11+
- More playback controls when Spotify is playing on a computer
- Automatically reconnects to trusted networks in the background on Android 10+
- Themed monochrome icons in Android 13+
- improved translation
- Various quality of life improvements throughout the app
The latest LibreOffice
LibreOffice is one of the most important applications in Zorin OS. The new release introduces LibreOffice 7.5 , some new enhancements include:
- Better compatibility with Microsoft Office/365 documents
- Big improvements to dark mode
- New design of the tabbed navigation interface
- Data tables are now supported in charts
- Filter documents by type from LibreOffice applications
- Improved visibility of bookmarks within documents

Better Security and Compatibility
Many built-in system technologies have been improved for better security, compatibility, and performance.
Zorin OS 16.3 is powered by the same version of the Linux kernel as Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (GA). It comes with updated drivers, bringing better compatibility for more hardware. These include support for newer components like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 4060 Ti, and 4060 out-of-the-box graphics cards.
