This article lists common problems and corresponding solutions that may be encountered when connecting to Zilliz Cloud.
Why does the connection time out and how to deal with the connection timeout error?
A connection timeout error may occur in the following situations:
- Poor network conditions If the network conditions are not good, it is recommended to adjust the timeout parameter value when connecting. The timeout parameter value defaults to 30 seconds. This means that the connect operation will timeout if no response is received within 30 seconds of sending the connect request.
- Incorrect connection parameters The Zilliz Cloud cluster has TLS enabled. Make sure to include secure in the connection parameters and set it to true. Failure to set parameters correctly may result in connection failures and timeouts.
- When connecting to the cluster without adding the local IP address to the whitelist, please ensure that the VPN/proxy is turned off, and the obtained public IP address (private IP address cannot be used) has been added to the cluster whitelist.
Why can't I connect to the cluster?
When the cluster cannot be connected, perform the following steps to troubleshoot:
- Check if the cluster status is running . You cannot connect to the cluster while the cluster is being created or deleted. You cannot connect to the cluster while the cluster whitelist is being updated.
- Confirm that the IP address is set in the whitelist.
- Run
telnet in01-(uuid).(region).vectordb.zillizcloud.com:19530to test whether the port can be connected.
