Open source summer 2 023 activity list officially released! After reviewing by the tutors, the community and the organizing committee, a total of 504 students were successfully selected for the project tasks of this open source summer activity, including 171 basic difficulty projects and 333 advanced difficulty projects . In the next three months, they will officially embark on the development journey of the Open Source Summer project under the guidance of community mentors . I look forward to the students going forward bravely on the road of open source , constantly challenging and creating more outstanding achievements!

# Project development start
Starting from July 1, Open Source Summer 2023 will enter a three-month project task development period. The selected students will complete the corresponding development tasks under the guidance of their instructors. Before officially starting the development work, students can communicate with the instructor on the project task content and goals, further improve the project planning, and make more adequate preparations for the development work. Students who have completed project development need to submit PR/MR to the project results warehouse before the end of project development (September 30, 24:00 UTC+8), upload the project completion report in the activity system, fill in the PR/MR link, and submit The PR/MR must be successfully merged before October 31.
The most important standard for passing the final review : the project undertaken by the student needs to be submitted to the open source community repository where the project is located in the form of PR/MR and merged.
Closing review time:
1. October 1st-October 31st: Instructor final review. During this period, student developers can still improve the submitted PR/MR until it is merged.
2. November 1st - November 8th: The organizing committee will complete the project review.
3. Announcement time for completed projects: November 9.

# Closing bonus
The total bonus of each project is divided into advanced 12,000 yuan and basic 8,000 yuan according to the difficulty of the project (the bonus amount is the amount of RMB before tax). Students who pass the end-of-term assessment will receive a bonus. If they fail the end-of-item assessment, no bonus will be issued. Students who pass the project completion review will also receive a project completion certificate issued by the organizing committee, and have the opportunity to participate in the annual outstanding student selection.

# About Summer of Open Source
"Summer of Open Source (OSPP)" is a series of summer activities under the guidance of the "Open Source Software Supply Chain Lighting Project" of the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Encourage students to actively participate in the development and maintenance of open source software, cultivate and discover more outstanding developers, promote the vigorous development of excellent open source software communities, and help the construction of open source software supply chains.
The event unites major open source communities to provide projects for the development and maintenance of important open source software, and open registration to college students around the world. Students can independently choose the projects they are interested in to apply for, and after being selected, they will develop under the guidance of senior project developers (community mentors). According to the degree of difficulty and completion of the project, those who complete the project will receive the Open Source Summer activity bonus and a project completion certificate.
Open Source Summer is in its fourth year.
