It can be defined in the material master file records in a project as a virtual member. MRP for the Phantom does not generate planned orders, but to expand its bill of materials directly to the next level.
Unlike virtual semi-finished materials, it does not specify the form, or is not a true sense of the material.
For example, computer products often contain instructions manual, warranty card, CD-ROM drive, etc., these things are relatively common but little change over time, it can be combined into a "virtual material" to facilitate the entry and management. Therefore, virtual materials also need to create a BOM.
To create a virtual material, the material master "MRP2" column, shall "special procurement type" is set to 50 (nothingness assembly). "Accounting 1" column, the "assessment level" is set to 8000. (Phantom).
Virtual stock material is actually non-existent bill of materials (BOM) of sub-assembly. It is used to simplify the BOM. Material Requirements Planning

Production Order
Production orders will start virtual BOM, according to the order needs to display its components. In the following example, the components in the production order occurs 1-6, instead of the virtual 1 and 2.
The same company in different departments of a single material requirements may vary. Engineering department may need to create multi-level BOM to define the engine. And this might Production BOM as a single virtual material included.
