GNOME is one of the most popular desktop environment, which is a reason. It has a modern UI, and comes with many GNOME-specific applications, these applications together well with the overall appearance of the desktop.
GNOME you can adjust to your liking, but today we do not discuss them. GNOME desktop might not know that you have some hidden features.
One feature that many people do not know the built-in screen recorder.
Yes, you are not mistaken. If you are using the GNOME desktop, then you do not have to install additional screen recorder in Linux. You only need to know the correct keyboard shortcut.

Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R
This will immediately start recording your desktop. You can record the screen to show progress by looking at the top of the panel system tray area of the red dot:

The default maximum record time of only 30 seconds. But it can be increased.
Open a terminal and use the following command:
In the above command, I have a maximum length of the recording to 300 seconds (5 minutes). You can change it to any other value, in seconds.
If you do not want any limit maximum recording time, set it to 0, then the recording will stop until you stop it manually or insufficient disk space so far.
Stop screen recording
As mentioned earlier, your desktop will automatically stop recording limit the maximum time.
To stop recording before that, press the same key combination:
